Rediscovered a 20 year old PS2 Car simulation and played a bit. When Reiza will do a part of it in the career mode next yearnit will be the best sim of all time!!

Correct... the PID controller must be adjusted for each system to get the desired effect (both fast and stable). There are sliders that won't violate FFB from the game and are just there to be used to get those PID parameters correctly (friction and inertia in Moza's case).
Should this be a task for the end user? No, the manufacturer should had already done that (for it's own wheels, but the sliders should be there for third party ones).

R12 NexGen 3.0 (is it still beta? I don't know...)

Yes, it much depends on the situation.
Low grip? Please, don't apply too much acceleration (steering, brake, acelerate) and the car will be fine... in a straight line... (1st Newton’s Laws of Motion)

Imola's T1 got me a few times... (I think the cars get larger when breaking there...)

Yeah, i can't tell right now how the different surface materials are affected in magnitude and when dirt for example turns into mud etc., but wetness level has influence on various kinds of surfaces, grass should become more slippery.

    Side notes:
It's a visual thing of course but i think you also see mud being thrown up on some grass surfaces in the wet instead of just grass and some dirt in the dry when spinning up the wheels.

Wet/all-weather tires have some amount of "cut" to them, they actually "grab" into terrain (reason why they're also used for non-dirt cars on dirt tracks as automatic choice) so they will also cope better with that when it's wet besides shoving away more water. (So you notice the increase in slippyness probably notably more with slicks in direct comparison - which btw. should also be more refined with 1.6)

I find that the wheel oscillates on the Moza if you have the in game damper at below 20, which you recommend in your custom FFB. In that case higher Natural inertia seems to reduce oscillation. However, if you have higher damping 30-50, and natural inertia on the Moza at it's lowest (100%) it won't oscillate at all, unless you increase the Natural inertia, and then it starts oscillating again (albeit much less than with very low damper values).

Can 1.6 be released this weekend?

    Thanks.

The damping mechanism obeys different equations depending on the profile (program) selected (defaults, custom).
They may, or may not, be equivelent (I don't know how Reiza does it; on other custom files, is just a matter of looking at the code).
Damping must be implemented, it's not there behind the slider as is.

A bit sad that we didn't get the update before Atlanta but will definitely recreate the race whenever it comes out.

First thing you're going to install is good old Diablo 2, HoMM 3 or perhaps Anno 1602. Hmmmmmm. Something old definitely.

There is a Games Expo in Brasil this weekend, in Sao Paulo. Can't find any info if our friends at Reiza are attending.

Simracing is a niche within a niche. It's probably not worth financially, but I'm just guessing here. In the end 99% of the "normal" players would try for 2 min and complain it is too hard.

Well, I don't like to put us on a pedestal and say we are special. I just think that the majority of people just don't care about realism. It is what it is.

I think by 'special' it's less like Kevin Estre or Max Verstappen special and more like special needs special
