Since yesterday, several IMSA categories have been racing at Petit Le Mans: Miatas MX-5 (which had the end of the second race marked by a huge accident), earlier they were racing the Carrera Cup and just now they finished the GT4s/TCR.
Now its time of the Qualy from the main category, the Weathertech with GTP and GTD. https://www.youtube.com/live/aeF7HBu28UM?si=WTvGX5AUQZXY-XtO

Make me wonder what of all that package came with IMSA's deal.

I'm watching now! So excited for the pink Caddy 01! sad to see them nbot continuing with Chip Ganassi racing - but hopefully Sebastien Bourdais and Rangavangazanga will still be racing again next year.

I would be happy if a new preview appeared... ....unless Overtake has any exclusive time agreements with Reiza.

Even the most brutal of racecars can still be driven by amatures, I got a good friend who has had the fortune of being able to drive a Benetton B186. His experience was mostly with oval racing (Spirnts, Late Models, etc), historics, and club racing. He said he had a tough time with it and had a few close calls but never spun it.

While I'd argue against vintage racecars being "easy" to drive under the limit based on what he's told me, I do also think that it's a fair bit easier than what most simracers would assume.

The only thing we know about is the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

Will there be others? I am sure Reiza will be happy to announce if there ever is...

I am getting bored with this & am now just flicking through the posts looking for posts from Renato only! He is the one who will make the update & nobody else. Why can’t we let him finalise 1.6 in peace & get it to us when it is ready.
It is irrelevant when somebody’s birthday is or when a particular race takes place, please just give him some respect and space.

Didn't Renato announced last week that the Reiza team is on a well-deserved break?

I don’t know about you guys but when I’m insecure about sim racing being too easy, I just get in my fire suit/helmet, crank up the thermostat as high as it’ll go and get my significant other to pull on my head as I go through the corners.

    Related but completely unrelated.
If my son misbehaved, I would sit him down and make him read out the pace notes on Dirt Rally.
But one day he got his vengeance. I went to fire up my favourite sim. Only to find he'd super glued himself to the pc. "I want to play my games now" he said. You can't deny his ingenuity!
That was many years ago, and now he's in his last year of a Masters Degree at university. I'm so proud of him, considering he still has a full desktop PC attached to him.

Disclaimer: completely made up and possibly off topic ;-)

True. I'm currently in the process of making a deal with those african coffin dancers to hire them part-time. Thought it was a better alternative to buying a motion system

cmon Renato, give yourself a jolt and let Nils do the preview at least - we lot are starving for the update, even if you think it isnt ready for release yet.
You could consider it as an appetizer before you serve us the main plate <3

I have been lucky enough to drive, a Caterham, a Lamborghini, a formula 3 car, a Lexus RCF, a Lancer Evo 8, a Ronart 50s F1 replica and a whole variety of other cars.

The biggest difference between any sim and reality is a lack of fear, first for the car and second for your health. None of them were hard to drive, quite the opposite, they handle BETTER than your average car.

The Lambo was like driving a executive car even at 175mph. The Lexus, similar.
The Caterham is less scary to drift than any beemer and more trustworthy.
The f3 car had more grip than I knew what to do with, the hair trigger clutch and throttle were fine.
The evo drove like it was on rails and could take 40mph corners at 60-70 comfortably.

The scariest of the above was the 50s f1 replica, especially on public roads. The length meant you were blind until your nose was over a meter out and the high sidewalled tyres meant it had interesting handling, especially at high speeds.

None were beyond the abilities of anyone who is a competent driver in manual, driving them fast or to their limit, as others have said, is the tricky part.

Driving them anywhere near their limit and risking health and wallet is the thing that separates the racing drivers from the average driver or weekend warriors.

No sim can replicate that and as I've said before, I don't think a pneumatic boxing glove that smashes you in the face and then drains your bank account would improve the experience.
