After two thousand came two thousand and one
To be the new champions we were there for to run
From springtime in Arizona 'til the fall in Monterey
And the raceways were the battlefields and we fought 'em all the way

Was at Phoenix in the morning I had a wake-up call
She went around without a warning put me in the wall
I drove Long Beach, California with three cracked vertebrae
And we went on to Indianapolis, Indiana in May

Well the Brickyard's there to crucify anyone who will not learn
I climbed the mountain to qualify went flat through the turn
But I was down in the might-have-beens and an old pal good as died
And I sat down in Gasoline Alley and I cried

Well we were in at the kill again on the Milwaukee Mile
And in June up in Michigan we were robbed at Belle Isle
Then it was on to Portland, Oregon for the G.I. Joe
And I'd blown off almost everyone when my motor let go

New England, Ontario we died in the dirt
Those walls from mid-Ohio to Toronto they hurt
So we came to Road America where we burned up the lake
But at the Speedway at Nazareth I made no mistake

Rivaling iRacing doesn't mean to copy what's bad in it...just to get the game to the state where it's level in popularity.

I can imagine many people who are Iracing through and through have invested that much money into it that they’d rather stay with what they know and what they have heavily invested in. One of the reasons I personally never went down the Iracing route.

I invested also alot iRacing. In the end its too competitive for me and too time consuming to get good. Too much stress for a hobby. I gave up on iRacing.. kinda…

Same for me. It always feels too serious. Like everytime I hit the track it is an official race. If you screw up your ratings go down, so that forces you to practice a lot, which is not necessarily bad, but I miss the more casual approach sometimes.

Everybody is different in that regard. I for instance don't like the pressure of performing in every single race, I don't want my hobby to be stressful. However I also don't like the casual approach. I'm highly competitive in nature and would like to rank myself among others doing the same thing, in this instance racing. But I do believe most of the pressure you, me and others feel in these online races is because we set a value for some imaginary number. We shouldn't feel pressed that we've lost 0.07 SR or 25 iR, these numbers are meaningless at the end of the day.

Sunk cost fallacy is a thing for many people, goes with pretty much any hobby really.

I suppose after splashing out to get the beta access after having the full season pass I'm now bound to AMS2 forever ;)

    And I'm not complaining here!

I have a question regarding the AI right tire choice depending on the car/track combo, not necessarily on the weather at first place. Because it seems that the AI (and their respective track engeneers) completely ignore how to figure out the best tire compound strategy for a certain event, as I have discovered here:

Will this lack of AI tire strategy be sorted out with the 1.6 release?

I ran out of patience to wait for 1.6 and started actively testing iR. In iR, old tracks look very bad, but once you try something new, you start to like it. The car models look awesome, the suspension works, many sounds are at a high level. I'll tell you more, after iR I went to compare with AMS2 and it turned out that in some places, AMS2 loses to IR in graphics. IR has incredible picture clarity, no stairways, anti-aliasing works great, good textures of asphalt and cars. In AMS, everything is stairways, many sounds sound unnatural. I'm not a fan of IR at all, but it is really better than AMS even in terms of graphics. These stairways spoil everything, plus this blue haze effect in the distance really spoils the whole feeling. I don't know what will happen in 1.6, but anti-aliasing will remain the same, Renato talked about this. I'm not even talking about the feeling of the car, in 1.5 the tire is so hard and unrealistic that I completely lost the desire to drive in AMS until the release of 1.6.

Me too, started to play Lmu and Assetto Corsa, now mu only hype is AC Evo, i wait a bit for 1.6, but not as much
And Man Assetto Corsa has sooooo much grip compare to Ams2 (current version), and this game has all the cars i want, for exemple in ams2 a f1 cars has one chassis for all skin of the season, then AC has every single cars of many seasons, so yeah

With such posts you show yourself in a bad light. You do not respect the opinions of others and do not accept criticism. You are sure that only you know the truth, and if someone does not agree, then he must be immediately kicked out of here. This is how you scare away adequate people. Here, except for insults, ridicule and humiliation, you will not get anything if you have a different point of view. To be honest, this is already boring, many people have already left this forum and I will do the same.

    To be in topic

Now that IMSA is finished and the reiza holidays finished what is the plan for the coming days in terms of communication and the update?

When stuff is ready to be shown then it will be announced in time. As mentioned before, deliberately no clear deadline yet but shy of any hickups the update is on course to be in the final stages of development.
