You could have some kind of disability that makes wheel and pedals unreasonably tough or impossible.

I forget his name, but there was one guy who used unexpected and unusual inputs that he could play games with in Raceroom and did very well in multiplayer racing.

I am here because of that reason--I compare only to my own on-track experience accepting that every sim will have some good and less good elements. Don't need to talk down the other sims, but my hours of use in them (close to zero) speaks for itself.

It's a sim game, so I recommend playing by wheel, you will discover new pleasure.

    Hello
I would also like to get involved in the discussion about driving physics.
I've only had AMS2 since November last year and I'm more convinced
GTR2 driver felt immediately at home with AMS2, something I've never had with any other sim.
The driving physics of GTR2 are still the measure of all things today (not just my opinion) and AMS2 is
    close.
I actually only drive OW(for sure v10 gen2) and AMS2 is great, especially on the Nordschleife, maybe even a little better than GTR2, thanks to the very good FFB effects.
With the other vehicles like GT3 etc. I'm not quite that impressed, I find it a bit vague.
    GTR2 is still better.
AMS2 is definitely on the right track, I hope the new update meets the great expectations.
Maybe RedBull will think differently about the best sim.

    See you on track, Micha

    P.S.
Just a question: why don't I see sparks flying in the rearview mirror when I touch down?
With GTR2 you could already see this in the mirror in 2006!

They are not, and never will be in any modern sim going forward. The vast majority of people would much rather have immersive graphics, sounds, physics, etc., for themselves than to degrade all of that so severely that there is enough processing power to allow AI to use the same physics as the player. Oh yeah, and according to many comments here, the game is almost useless if it can't support 60+ fields of AI on long tracks (you know, the ones that are most performance-taxing in the game already), so good luck with that.

The benefits of AI using player physics are negligible at best. The reason any AI might be disappointing is because of the programming of the AI itself--it's decision-making behaviour. Improving this also costs processing power, so do not be surprised if AI behave more robotically when they are on some other part of the track and only "come alive" when the player is nearby.

I think it is safe to conclude you haven't used AMS (1) ;)

Or, I am happy to report, AMS 2 1.6 :)

Ooh, v1.6 comparisons to AMS1 physics? That’s a very high bar and I am SO ready for that.

Precisely, they would not put full controller support in a game if it was not meant to be played on that peripheral.

Console gamers have the console wars. We over here have the AI Vs Physics Vs Multiplayer wars. :D

Good physics all the way. I must admit that I have had fun with the AMS2 AI. But in a sim physics are essential.
Had Reiza not been interested in improving the physics I would not be here waiting for 1.6. I would be playing ACC and waiting for ACE

People also have health problems and disabilities, some can never ever use a wheel, why not allow them to have a proper experience using a gamepad ?

Ich hoffe, dass sie ams 2 noch lange unterstützt, bis sie das Maximum der Engine erreicht haben. Bin gerne nochmal bereit den vollen Preis zu zahlen

Would not surprise me at all if that was the end game plan for AMS2. Makes complete sense and what a huge cash cow it would be for Reiza to start their next adventure.

The best part is when he talks about tyres in sim racing goes lava temperature when you spin or something. This is really anoying.

    Agree

I’d add to that. The person said you need a wheel as it’s a simulation. But that’s thing, it’s a simulation, not real life so you can use any controller you want.
