I agree.. but then we don't know what happened in the background.. perhaps someone else was supposed to do it but had an issue last minute.. Who knows!.. As I posted earlier.. I'm sure the intentions were good but it failed on execution...

And anyway.. V1.6 will be here soon enough and this will all be forgotten about!

 

This is exactly it, I raced against him in leagues and can assure you he is a good driver, with the sheer amount of content in AMS2 it's hard to simply hop into a new car and perform. Especially in 1.6 which is less forgiving than the live version.
Also from what I read at the start of the stream in the youtube chat, it seemed to have been a last minute decision on Overtakes part to ask Yannik to do the preview and he wasn't prepared to do it from home, just to give some context...

 

Yeah, but overall I think its a step in the right direction - maybe for some not in ästhetics, but at least in funtionality and more information is displayed.

 

If so thats a pity - but like I said - I dont know him so I just take what is given

A very strange decision to use Overtake. They've only recently restarted, after a long break.

Frankly, the decision to use them, instead of a myriad of other, well established channels is a mystery to me.

As others have said, it's a complete own goal. A 30 minute pre recorded run through would have sufficed.

 

I don't think he knows what the new content is.

And I think the problem for some of us here is, that this is just basic marketing stuff thats goin wrong with this presentation. Its worlds behind every competent marketing strategy for such an important step in a product-livecycle.

But it will not make a difference I hope - AMS2 deserves clearly better though

 

Only text also gets messy, icons are important and eye catching. I go always by icons.

 

Of course it will not make a difference. And people will be able to evaluate v1.6 on their own sooner or later anyway.

 

For a first preview, we have 720p 30 while others offer 4k 60.
For an online platform we have RCO while others have LFM....
I think AMS2 deserves better than all that!

 

Not on Reiza at all, Overtake is the biggest source for simracing news especially after they ate up Race Department, you'd expect better than this.

 

"We're showcasing the brand new 1.6 update", so let's watch a guy drive a Group C car at old Kyalami FFS.

He didn't show driver swaps (we're supposed to be able to choose a specific AI driver in 1.6)
He didn't show if the AI are now driving at the correct speed in the rain (they used to be 3 seconds too fast)

Though Group C are absolutely awesome in v1.6 !
