Automobilista 2 September 2024 Development Update - The Road to V1.6 Pt2

The naming scheme is the same as the one currently in AMS2

 

AFAIK official designations are used for the cars, right down to capitalization (or lack thereof).

"Gen 1" and "Gen 2" only pertains to the names of the class the car belongs to in the game, but doesn't show up in the car name itself (fictional generic cars like the formulas aside, of course).

We already have seen official screenshots of the Corvette Z06 GT3.R, I wonder why it was not in the video? Or was it and I just missed it?
If we get IMSA, do we also get the Lexus, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford and Honda/Acura GT3 cars?

 

Hey man, i think you are taking this thing a bit too seriously. Taking away your strength ? If you are feeling weak in your legs then get some rest, maybe even rest from the internet for a while. I mean that genuinely because sometimes you write stuff that leaves me puzzled.

 

I caught it in the menu, but I didn't see it in any of the races. Maybe it's not done yet?
EDIT: Apparently it was also spotted as an opponent car

As for the others, the licensing is done manufacturer-by-manufacturer, as I understand it. There's no guarantee all the GTD cars will appear, but we can hope

 

You could see it racing against the player in the video. Yannick did not drive it though.

 

Really looking forward to this! The only slight worry I have is how VR will perform with the graphics updates. It is fantastic in VR as it is, but after the 3D trees update to Bathurst I only play that now on fixed time and sunny weather because otherwise I get poor framerate on the "tree heavy" sections especially up and over the climb (4090 and 7800X3D).

Hopefully don't see the same thing when 3D trees are added to other tracks.... would be cool if there could be a yes/no option in the graphics settings for whether 3D trees are used or not.

 

It is! New prize cars, Korea exclusive cars, new car sounds, new events, new restrictions on events, ability to see typical opponents before a race, and a lot more. Honestly it was kinda like playing GT4 for the first time all over again

gen1 and gen2 is a bit weird for the specific category IMO but now i get it.

so we will be able to tell if the actual car in GT3 gen 1 is the audi the Audi R8 LMS GT3 or GT3 evo and the car in gen 2 is the evo II, i guess

Just reduce the resolution of VR and it will be ok. I change it in SteamVR.

Just a seemingly small reduction can have a big impact.

We run a competitive league, so I run 75% resolution to guarantee max frame rate in all weather and lighting conditions. But this is extreme and you dont need to do that. I think in default setting it pushes 150% resolution, which looks great, but is not necessary. 125% is also very good I run it when not racing competitively.

Getting rid of rotating trees is fantastic, though. I love that graphics are improving. It future proofs the game and its important, considering the huge content and upcoming content. Video cards continue to evolve and Im fine to run lower settings in short term. Graphics settings are always a matter of compromise. Always have been and always will be.

 

Honestly, I don't blame him, I'm the same, the current version of AMS2 no longer motivates me because of the delays in the dates that were initially discussed, we will have to assume that when you impose something on yourself and then don't fulfill it, people will get frustrated ...

 

Yeah sort of agree, but it would be disappointing to have to compromise the entire rest of the graphics quality for the sake of some trees that no longer rotate, trees I'm not really even paying attention to when hard racing.

 

Yannick has never liked AMS2. I just ignore anything he has to say. Personally I would have nothing to do with him or the channel.

 

Are you only interested in just cars and tracks for the update?

For someone who doesn't like AMS 2 I thought he treated it super fairly, sure there were times where he seemed frustrated, but thats how life goes sometimes especially with all the external factors.
