Automobilista 2 September 2024 Development Update - The Road to V1.6 Pt2

I didn't see the HUD UI get a re-refreshed look in the preview videos like the menu system did. I do hope it receives it one, just for style's sake. It would be very useful, too, if in the new look we can see what tires the AI are using - assuming they also get the same level of choice and need as the player.

 

Remember, Yannik plays in ultrawide and he didnt move it so his stream cut of alot of the UI - If you look at the vod you can see a bit of the new map

 

Within the Audio conversation, we need to consider various aspects of it. For example, LMU, RR and iRacing do interior audio quite well, imo. AMS2: Some cars sound very good inside, some not so much (yet?) but, from what I've heard in replays (Beta - so far) could put it at the top of my favorite-Audio list. Time will tell though, being it's WIP.

RaceRoom provides lots of details and settings!!! Love that, but I'm always let down by the lack of sound-dynamics in replays.

 

true, there is a new map, but the art-style is the same - which I think it could really use a new look. Also, the map.. well, it's nice, I'm glad it's there. But it doesn't have info like wind speed, or a rain-overlay over the map. Now that would be a very nice addition.

 

Do we know if Reiza allowed Overtake a one-day only opportunity to host a stream, or if they could give it another go? I'd love to see what creators could do with a bit more time to plan.

I'm also starved for information. The update has been teased as incredible non-stop for four months. This week, I find myself straddling the line between peak excitement and frustration.

 

I would rather they let Nils Naujok do a stream, so we dont get another F1 race at night to show off flatspots

 

Don’t know if it was a one shot only but I hope the other content creators that got green light will release their work soon.
As frustrating as it is the update is worth every minute of waiting.
Huge content addition, great improvements of physics, graphics, sound, UI, AI.
I’m still not believing how much progress Reiza has made even though it’s 6 months going…

 

The update has not been teased non-stop. The people here have expressed non-stop excitement to the point of inanity. Have fun with it, but don't take it seriously or make any life decisions based on it. It's simply a group of fans allowing themselves to get (too) carried away.

 

It was suppose to have more info in few days. It was suppose to have lot of streams in few day. It was suppose to be release in summer… we don’t know what happen on side.

I know it's a 3rd world problem, but anyone in the beta knows how I feel...we're all super excited about what's coming along with 1.6,both content and code wise and wanna tell the world about it.

But quite rightly, we have to keep the present under wraps until the big day arrives and santa Rieza says we can unwrap it!

It's gonna be a good day indeed.

 

Tell us just one thing… is there more to expect we did not see and did not read about?

Something like this would be very cool. Wouldn't it really be something else? Functional, unique, useful. This is the kind of UI update I hope are in the works. And as I said, a more modern style change would go a long way. Look at ACCs and LMU's UI style, for instance.

I game on a Samsung G9 NEO 49", but I arranged the UI before I 1st started streaming AMS 2.

But the main reason is I'm likely old enough to be his dad.

 

TBH we are not there to enjoy it. We are there to try and provide feedback. There is a lot of WIP component in Beta so you have to think about partially complete things that may or may not be entirely “enjoyable”.
Trust us, it doesn’t take long between an update being “finished” and Renato pressing the red button
