Very impressive list of updates, (ffb) improvements and additions. The Multiplayer and TAA updates are amazing and so is the new content. I just want to say: Thank you!

I was just casually scrolling through this blog post and then I saw the TAA update. Now I want to French kiss Renato and the rest of the Reiza team for making dreams come true. I hope this is the start of a process that leads to AMS 2 adding DLSS/FSR/XeSS temporal upscaling now that the framework has been laid...

EDIT: I also wonder if the new work being done on Road Atlanta offers any chance that we might get to see the Short or Club circuit variants of the course available in the upcoming track DLC. The Short circuit variant in particular is wonderful for older and slightly slower racing classes.

If an update to the simulation is sign of a flaw in the simulation then shouldnt that also go for any sim that still recieves update? I mean LMU had like 3 different tyre models within the same number of months. I didnt hear the same crowd that was labelling it as the "standard for sims" all of a sudden stop. Even when all three tyre models were very different, It still the "best" before and after.

On a brighter note, the content looks awesome. Very happy the cars don't have ABS. A way to save mid race to pull of that solo 24 hours of Spa would be very welcomed

Mid race saves would be very welcomed indeed and maybe if "Career Mode" one day isn't greyed out they will include the mid race save option if there is an endurance career. Also happy to have some more cars without ABS as well. :)

In regards to your other point though, one of the games has been out of early access for 5 and a half years while the other has been out of early access for less than 3 months so one could reasonably expect the younger one to get more updates. The changes seem to be embraced by the LMU fans as well as you can see active player count is already substantially higher than AMS2 has ever been and probably ever will be despite AMS2 having sold likely substantially more copies. It's a pity to me that LMU will never have the vast content AMS2 has as I quite enjoy the handling but that content isn't my thing whereas AMS2 has all the toys I could ever want to stuff into a garage (and this new content is no exception) but I still find the way cars handle to be disappointing. I have fun playing it because of all the amazing historic content, don't get me wrong. I just don't think it is the most realistic and I accept AMS2 for what it is.

Does the new HUD mean we finally can hide everything when racing in VR?

My very optimistic self hopes that this means we'll get all the outstanding tracks that we don't have yet (as DLC) for the ALMS/ELMS schedule, which would be a lot to be honest (ALMS: Mid-Ohio, Limerock, Sonoma, Portland/ELMS: Brno, Oschersleben, Magny-Cours, Istanbul). If we could only get a few of them, my choice would be Mid-Ohio, Portland, and Brno, which are simply fantastic tracks. Nevertheless: great update, great new historical content!

May you post a night race with new TAA and MSAA comparison video? When the light of the headlights shines on the back of the car, it looks like PS1 graphic.

    Qaudviews and native OpenXR:
iRacing did implement, and I think soon will LMU follow. Do the fact, that LMU ist sponsored by Pimax. But AMS2 is still my favorite so please consider to implement DFR and native OpenXR Support, to not use OpenXR Composite to Bypass SteamVR anymore.

    Thank you!

Personally I uninstalled lmu after 2 months, too little content and driving is not at all superior to AMS2 with a good custom ffb.

I am so glad TAA is coming to the game. In VR some things specially at night look quite pixelated, like the back of some cars depending on the texture the have (Lamborghini super trofeo comes to my mind). I expect this to be greatly mitigated with TAA.

You can already do this. There is a button to cycle between the different HUD types, and by default one is no HUD at all. I have this set to a button on my wheel so I can play without HUD but can still activate it for a while to check on something if I need to.

I think they are referring to the pop up boxes that appear.

Man I am telling you I do it, you can hide EVERYTHING. Indeed is there by default, so if you cycle through all HUD types and do not have it, either you have deactivated it or modified or something. Stop saying you can not because it is not true

I am also almost certain no elements pop up to me, not even if I for example ask for a pit stop, since I usually activate the HUD then just to check if it worked.

Edit: ok under yellow flags things pop up, that's true. I think that's fine though

I have had zero jaggies for a long time on this game.

In game, switch off all AA options. Set resolution to double your native and let your graphics card handle it. Perfectly smooth shadows and better than in-game AA performance.

Still going to try running at native res and the new TAA but I have a suspicion it will not perform as nicely as the current method.

Edit: OFC this does not work in VR so, I am even more excited to see how this performs.

Yes DLSS, just make the game a pixelated ghosting blurry mess instead of proper optimization
    - signed, NVIDIA
Lazy devs will tell you to use DLSS instead of bothering with optimization, but Reiza back in March made a proper optimization update that improved the night time framerate where previously in VR i had to lower resolution scaling to LOW or even POTATO to have a smooth framerate, now it is silky smooth at MEDIUM which is what i always use. I hope Reiza will not waste time that Nvidia scam.

There is this button that can cycle through even single box that can appear and you can switch it off. If you just deactivate what is visible on the hud all the time it won't work, but I'm pretty sure if you cycle through every single popup you can turn everything off.
I don't think the game is optimzed that good. I still can't find a solution that the game actually uses full GPU, it just sticks at like 60% of my 4090 and like 20% CPU load while not making out the possible fps or no frame limit active on my triples. I bascially can't run full details because the game runs into its own bottleneck. Especially newer tracks like Sebring or Road Atlanta have huge fps issues, running on like half the framerate of older tracks.
