this sounds like a really good update. Regarding the improved HUD elements, will this finally fix the 1080p+ bug when using a VR headset? To expand on this......when using VR, and the games display on the monitor is anything higher than 1080p, the HUD elements are not the correct size nor position. Thanks!!

How exactly does this work? It sounds like nonsense. First, to be able to enable a resolution that is double your monitor's native, the graphics driver would have to report that resolution as viable to Windows (either through creating a custom resolution or DSR). I'm using a 4K display, so this workaround for TAA that you've suggested would have me setting the game to 7680 × 4320. This would result in single digit frames compared to simply enabling post-processed SMAA within the game menu only costing a 1% performance penalty (at least on my 3080).

I see a clear improvement in the HUD but you have to look for a monospaced font for the letters and numbers.

The "GTR" and "GT3" on the names are simply part of the car model names. In the case of the Porsche it was based on a road car branded as "GT3" - they made "GT2" and "GT3" track oriented road cars.

Wow! What an absolutely stunning update post! So excited for all of these implementations. The only grips I have, and it's a personal one, is that I don't have enough damned free time

When was the last time you tried DLSS?
DLSS 4 Transformer model with the latest preset K looks better than native resolution + TAA in most cases.

And AMS 2 doesn't need DLSS to compensate for lack of optimization, but for lack of good AA solutions.

It may sound like nonsense to you but I can assure you it works like a dream. I am team red and the feature is called Virtual Super Resolution. Here is an explanation from the web:

What is AMD Virtual Super Resolution?

AMD Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) is a technology that enables your graphics card to render games at a higher resolution than your monitor's native resolution. This higher resolution image is then downscaled to fit your display, resulting in improved image quality and reduced aliasing. VSR is particularly beneficial for users with lower resolution displays, as it can simulate the effects of higher resolution gaming without the need for a 4K.

I would not know if Nvidia has a similar feature.

Can't wait for the next-next update for the TAA. Meanwhile, I will be driving those Lambos... at least in a simulator, I can afford them

    Great work, guys, keep pushing

VSR ist AMD's equivalent to NVIDIA's DSR.
    It's driver side downsampling.
It's still a performance hog though, like every downsampling method.

It seems to me like it's already a monospace font, at least when it comes to the width of every digit. Notice for example the space between the "1" and the "." due to the one being narrower than the other digits.

There could be something else up with the font rendering, though, which makes the numbers seem a bit crooked. Maybe it's the kerning or something like that.

Read the part you've quoted again, what Renato is saying is that the tracks are exactly as they were 20 years ago, earlier in the dev update he already mentioned that most of the cars will be represented in AMS2, not all, most.

There's DLDSR that is an improvement over standard DSR using Tensor Cores to make it faster. Tensor Cores that AMS2 would not use otherwise.

I made a detailed post about it some time ago.

My guess is the alcohol and tobacco sponsorship, the only game dev who doesn’t care in game is Raceroom.
