"H" is the standard designation for horizontally-opposed engines, which this one was (6-cylinders on each side in boxer formation). "H" for "horizontal" and because it literally looks like the layout of the cylinders (as does "V" and "I" for the two vastly more common layouts).

The BRM was simply two flat-8's pancaked on top of each other and is the only example of that I am aware of. It doesn't get its own letter just for a bizarre one-off ;)

E="2ndLastJedi, post: 128246, member: 2473"]Interesting.....new Sim doing BTCC using the rF2 engine?? Surely they won't just do a single class.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, there's a lot of ambiguity surrounding this whole thing. I don't think it is completely clear at this point with what engine they are going, not that I could find anyway. Since it's slated for next year, I hope we get more disclosure later in the year.

I think what it means is that the default (base) setup uses a longer final gear, not that they've made the gear longer itself.

Great update with some very nice QOL changes. It's fantastic to finally race without a doppelganger in every single bloody race :)

    • Added initial logic for loading trackside crowd / objects according to session type (initial implementation covers only 2D crowd which now does not show in test day / practice sessions)
So what exactly is this meant to do? As far as I can tell there is zero difference between crowd numbers test day vs quick race at Oulton Park for instance.

Crowd should be less in practice(race weekend)/test day session, than race session.

Thanks mate, that's what I thought too. Turns out that it just doesn't work at Oulton Park, which was the first track I tried after the update. I've tried a few other tracks and there's no crowd in test day.

Thanks Marc for chipping in here..

The extended Car Info SS now has these engines set as HB4, HB6 & HB12.. I think it's clear enough for everyone to understand.. Unlike Live & Live..:D

It would be bonus points if Reiza could program the various tachos for the BT46B.. Especially that giant Speedometer on the RHS..

It helps with these, because you aren’t going through gears what feels like every second. And close gearing is important so you don’t bog down in corners. Which in this car is no torque, no fan, no suction, no fun.

Cheers! That's fantastic! I love the fact that the updates so clearly show that the dev team are listening to the users.

Can anyone confirm that it's working? (I don't have my gaming laptop with me). I can't wait to race the AI with a full grid of unique Formula Retros!

Unfortunately still some liveries showing up as duplicates, i am sure they will get it all working in the not so distant future.

This is a proper mid-month major update, well done Reiza!
I like the Brabham. It is a FANtastic car.
BUT WHERE is the "LONG BEACH" track ???
    LONG BEACH Reiza!? :( Please.

The new Brabham is really good apart from in hairpins, it’s like the steering disconnects at extra slow speeds such is the understeer.

I just cant imagine any car with hot slicks on a dry surface could have that little mechanical grip from the front tyre at 70kph

You'd be suprised especially in the older cars.
Its more about squaring the corner off, using the cars strengths, acceleration and braking, rather than mechanical grip/corner speed.
Especially the slow to mid corners.
Its basically a big engine attached to a driver lol.

They look like modern slicks, but are actually four balloons due to the bias ply structure with a narrow contact patch. I'm not saying that current grip level is correct, but I think your thinking is based on an inaccurate assumption is all.
