There is no more character with him. He morphed from a Simracer who did videos to a full fledged Youtuber who now only occasionally simraces. He just stopped caring. Gone are the days where he did complete ELMS or Camel trophy seasons in iRacing or VEC in rF2.

I mean, look at this screenshot of his latest videos and find the simracing content:

Jimmy often comes of as a nice jolly guy but behind the mask you can see a lot of elitism and gatekeeping.

It's fine to like different sims and I love all simulators for what they are but to completely write off a game after playing less than an hour with one car is just silly.

Now I don't care what Jimmy thinks however it's sad how many uninformed people think his opinions carries supreme weight on what sim is good and bad.

why all the resentment? I stumbled across a real Fun Cup race he was in on the telly the other day. It was *great* to see a sim racer getting stuck in and mixing it up on track. He seems like an articulate guy who enjoys what he does and has been lucky and capable enough to make a really good go of it. It nothing but good, in my view

Hi mate. Put you out of your misery. You can have some piece knowing that when boards were reset. You weren’t top.

    Completely uncalled for comment.

RE Jimmer: Let’s also let the man enjoy his life. As with all youtubers, take things with a grain of salt (or a spoonful) and remember they are flawed humans like all of us.

Be fair to Jimmy though, because he has always been an entertainer doing playthroughs of Gran Turismo, driving silly mods, doing the sort of "what's it like driving X at Y in 1975" videos. A lot of his content is about fun and immersion, and he is good at that. You can see that going on in between his real life driving vlogs. It would be great if AMS2 would somehow enter that style of video of his like it actually has a couple times.

Having said that I share anyone's frustration with the kind of hectic fast-paced reactionary video style Youtube content creation seems to lead to. It's not good for reviews, but it is what it is. It leaves much of the good detail unrepresented. Talking about them would give the viewer a better understanding of pros and cons so they can think for themselves.

As always there are exceptions who do longer in-depth videos with analysis. The entertainment value is lower, but both the viewer and creator need patience with complicated subjects like sims. A great example from sim hardware side is Sim Racing Garage :)

I watch and enjoy his videos sometimes. But I'm big (and old) enough to form my own opinions without outside influence.
Yes, his channel is commercialised and click baity, but I don't hold it against him by any means.
It's kind of inevitable once you hit a threshold of viewers and become valuable. This is his job now. It's how he makes his living, and his channel is a numbers game, that is carefully curated and maintained for that purpose.

I agree. Another example is SimRacing604

Presumably it pays for his real racing. People have done far worse to pay for racing. I'm jealous as hell :)

...or simply there is people who like him and people like me which can't stand him (GM and Hermin too)...

I prefer small streamers, better if objective (even if truth can hurt) than such kind of content as the ones mentioned above.

But yeah, I am old too and found this YT/Twitch mania being quite boring and silly from the very beginning so...

Because he went from being my favourite Simracer who was relatively in-depth and very entertaining to a Clickbait Youtuber over time and I miss his old style of content. Purely personal :)

I don't understand the acidity of this community. I suggested to delete the TT board but keep a backup of the old one, people responded as if I wanted to keep the old one as valid. Then people were like "you loser, take a screenshot and stick it in the middle of your ... wall". Now Jimmy doesn't really care about the game he is suddenly a bad person. Come on guys, grow up.

I'm fully aware this is a road car. I don't understand what you pointing to?
The UI shouldn't print the used fuel because it is a road car?
10% is only a bit because it is a road car?
    Sorry I'm confused...

But you bring up a good point. I was unclear (to me) at the announcement of the TSI Cup what car we should expect. The Cup-term was used for a Early-Mid-2000s and Late-80s/90s (if my memory don't trick me here) race series based on the Polo. They used race preped street cars afaik with race tires. More or less like the Porsche Supercup - just with Polos. I admit had expected a revive of that series in brazil with a matching video game.

The Info screen already has a big amount of data that pertains to the use and aids of cars. We don't need to pick a fuel to refill it though and I don't think it is of much use to know if a car is running Diesel, Unleaded 91/95/98/102, E5/10/85, Super, AdBlue or Moonshine. The power output is what matters. It wouldn't serve any purpose but to make a certain Ranting Steve even more ranty. Even massive games like Gran Turismo won't bother with it because it doesn't really matter.

No toxicity and acidity. You asked several times to save the old TT and the others gave you several options and explained you why there isn't anyone else asking for that except you (at least for now). I didn't read any attack towards you and even 1-2 posts which weren't exactly on point were stigmatized from the same guys giving you alternatives.

About Jimmy, GM, etcetera they wanted to be public celebrities so they will be praised and bashed at the same time, it is part of the game and they don't need to be defended (specially because they will never care/know about their reputation's defenders, those are only part of a number clicking on their vids, subscribing and giving money to them, the others not so can be called "fanboys", no money lost there lol).

Chill man, we are discussing between grown people, nothing here is a personal attack...

I already reported some time ago that starting a race with the first weather slot being 'Light rain' results in the AI starting on slicks and always doing a pit stop at the end of first lap. This makes that particular case of starting an AI race with 'Light rain' unusable. Maybe it will be fixed at some point. You have to start with 'Rain' weather slot to have AI start on wet tyres.

To try to keep in on topic for this thread.

You guys gotta try the P4 Metalmoro around Salvador, wow it's fun to lean into the corners on the edge of grip. I really enjoy to drive all the prototype cars in AMS2 and with the update they are all better now
