    How do they differ from F1 cars of the same era? I know nothing about indycar tbh.

    No.
    It just loggs you entered race and did not finish race also.
    (shown as "finish rate" not as dnf)

    (at least not noticed) at work atm but will confirm later

    Not an expert but they are all stick shifters for one. Mostly I just remember them being something different from the F1, when watching races from TV back in the 90's, races were more interesting.
    It's more of a sentimental thing than technical to me.

    Just noticed the Ford logo on the IndyCars. Does that mean we can expect Ford cars in AMS2 as well? If so what would they be? I can't think anything other than the various Fort GT's ('60s, 2005, 2016)

    Not a huge amount of difference between the cars themselves, but they do have a completely engine building philosophy than F1 of the era. As mentioned, big turbos and high revving engine ruled the day.

    More interestingly, Cart and Indycar raced at probably the most diverse and challenging selection of tracks ever concived for a single season of racing. Superspeedways, short ovals, natural terrain road courses, purpose build road course, city tracks. They literally did it all, and in 900hp+ turbocharged monsters.

    In 1998 IndyCars were heavier, less hp, turbo, steel brakes, wider, had slicks.

    Mustang, Sierra Cosworth, Lotus Ford Cortina, Shelby GT350, GT500, Cobra, Cobra DAYTONA Coupe... Ford is the most successful brand in motorsports history

    Quoting myself, this can be worked-around by setting "Livetrack Preset" to "Damp" or "Wet", for a race configured with "Light rain" as first weather slot. The AI uses the state of the track at the beginning of the race to determine which tires to use (rather than the weather forecast), so with "Damp" or "Wet", it will use wet tires instead of slicks.

    Well Just in NASCAR I can think of...
    Fairlane, Torino Talladega, Taurus, Fusion, Mustang...

    Still hoping for dodge at some point

    This may have already been mentioned but ive just found a MAJOR PROBLEM! Been testing at Spa in the Mclaren 720s GT3 in the rain and wet track preset.

    Been testing back2back on slicks and wets. When you are on the actual tarmac, theres pretty much no difference in grip between slick tyres or wets.
    However if you so much as touch a kerb on wets you are toast! Put drys on and ride kerbs and its as normal but with too much grip on both tarmac and kerbs.
    Put wets on and grip is the same on Tarmac but ride a kerb (especially of you touch the barkes) and get ready to be facing the wrong direction v quickly, i mean its almost like the weird floaty car bug that happened in pit stops where the surfaces had no adheision, not quite but, nearly like that.
    Infact i think it might even be a bug to do with the kerbs. But even with that aside, the lack of difference on the tarmac between tyres is a big problem by itself.
