Your discovery is definetly correct. At least wets seem to underperform. The Kerb thing is still a weird one. (Well it's good, that kerbs get more slippy, but maybe not full ice with soap on it, while being smoothly polished)

I noticed with formula trainer advanced, starting out on a fully wet track with wets I had noticeably less grip than in the same conditions starting with slicks.

Yeah that makes even less sense now haha.

And what about being able to run slicks in the wet like that? I thought Livetrack being slow to catch up was causing that, but seeing TT said he selected the wet surface preset that isn't a factor anymore.

I noticed something like this as well. I changed to wets on the formula trainer advance when it started to rain at Donington Park while in practice. The ground was just barely wet as the rain just started mid session and it felt like I was driving on snow. All of my inputs were very delayed and the car was sliding much more then it should.

Can someone try porsche cup cars with ai on the nurbugring? Almost every corner exit, the ai is accelerating like GTE cars. This is really annoying. I have played ai strength at 104 and agresivness at 100. They are increasing the distance I closed on every turn.

Ok, but they are using the logo in the game. I thought those are copyrighted, but maybe not.

I’ve noticed a few discrepancies with wets too. I raced the F309 at Silverstone modern starting on a wet track with no rain. Me and the AI got wets, and they were quite difficult to race as they take the “slow in fast out” mantra very seriously. I’d catch them up coming into corners and they’d tear away out of them with unmatchable grip and stability. Trying to keep up as the track dried, I ended up cooking the tyres. Repeated the race but with me on slicks, and I won easily. The higher the power of the car, the more exacerbated the unfair AI stability and speed out of wet corners. It’ll be great to see the AI calibration pass, which has generally worked really well for dry tracks, applied across wets too.

Funnily enough I was at Donington too, haven't tested at other tracks though. Although I felt the same thing happened with the DPi at Spa but that was pre 1.3 will have to check again.

Tried the Formula Trainer Advanced again on a fully wet track with continuing rain and grip is either equal or slightly better with slicks. That said tire compound for the car is listed as all-weather, however we can still choose between slick or wet in the setup menu and there is a corresponding change to the car model in game.

So something is a little off with that one for sure.

Also, there is another problem that I want to tell. I have edited a custom championship yesterday. Then i played qualifying and i placed p3. And then i quit the game. When i comeback to the race i started the race at p13. The game sorted the cars from porsche carrera cup 4.0 to 3.8. Maybe this problem should be check. By the way i'm sorry my english :)

Not saying these will happen but would be pick of Fords..
    • 60s Touring - Ford Cortina (though Falcons, Mustangs, Escorts and Galaxies would also fit)
    • 70s Touring - Ford Escort (to match the BMW 2002
    • 70s GTs - Ford Capri (RS3100 or RS2600 variant, preferably the former)
    • GT4 - Ford Mustang GT4

Put some good time into this since the update and WOW! :)

I have been through a number of cars and the new feel to them is BRILLIANT!!!! :) WELL DONE DEVS!

The FFB and handling is wonderful, really upped the level after this fantastic update! the open wheelers and GT1 cars are so lovely to drive now, i love them.

Also, everything looks so good as well, awesome new shadow detail / type, was just admiring it when racing next to someone at Daytona, the lighting also really seems to have improved.

Its great to see this sim i paid £80 for back in the day coming on so well, plus its got serious legs to get even better.

So I mentioned there is a major problem with wet tires and slicks in the wet, seems im not alone. I need to do a few more tests.
But in the meantime I also wanted to post something to say how much im enjoying the new update and appreciating the work put into it. (in this case, specifically whats been done with the diff). So I made this, and just to be fair made a direct comparison to ACC seeing as it has the same car & track combo. Hopefully it shows what im rambling on about clearly enough. Bravo Reiza!

Did anyone try the TSI cup by Acelerados?
Would be interesting if the VW’s were also too heavy and slow or if it was just a bug in the AMS2 version…

They are not the same thing at all. The in-game damping is a sophisticated algorithm specially designed to interact cleverly with the other sliders. The wheel/control panel damping is just plain damping that overrides all else.

You should use in-game damping with AMS 2. That being said, the default for Fanatec is 100 and I always leave everything at default (it's hard enough to get all the sliders working in harmony without adding more confusion with on-wheel settings). DD wheels are different, but for our old ones, I wouldn't play with the settings on the wheel.

    WETS

You guys missed my post from about three days ago noting that not all the tires had been updated yet. Wets not. Even some of the dry tires are not done yet, though I believe the default dry tire on every car is at least in decent shape.

I am looking forward to good wet racing...in a few days from now!

While they're at fixing the tires for cars, can we get some more compounds for some of the F1 cars? Would be nice to have a medium compound for the Formula Ultimate and some of the others.

Before we begin adding tire compounds to that one, it'd be nice to make it about 10 seconds slower on heavy fuel and make the tires overheat far, far, far, far, far quicker, because as of now it's not realistic at all.
