Automobilista 2 V1.3.1.1 & Racin´ USA Pt2 RELEASED - Now updated to V1.3.2.0

Wow, Reiza. Just... wow. I don't know how else to describe, you people have done something beautiful.

I didn't really expect to enjoy a super-flat circuit, but there I was, having a lot of fun on Cleveland, putting in lap after lap after lap on the VWs. I went for a couple laps with the F-USAs around Watkins Glen and just... wow, I couldn't help but smile again and again and again. Sublime experience.

Congratulations, Reiza! And thanks for all the dedication and hard work. AMS2 has a brilliant future ahead.

 

So, which other first timers also got totally lost at Cleveland when exiting the pits?

 

Absolutely sensational update. The two tracks are possibly the best yet. As a warmup to the download, I took a spin 'round PC2's Watkins Glen and it's like a different track! It's shockingly dated and crude looking. By comparison, AMS2's is just so gorgeous and refined. And Cleveland has to be the most visually spectacular track in AMS2 yet. Who'd have thought a runway could look so epic! It has a very Sebring vibe to it too, so I think it's going to be huge hit.

I'm not a massive open-wheeler fan, but the new cars are great fun to drive. There's a very unique feel to them. I could seriously get into them.

This has to be the turning point for AMS2. From here on, it's surely all gain.

Lol, Cleveland in AMS2 is way better than a lot of USA mod tracks I've seen in other games where you start in the parking lot a long ways off and spend several minutes trying to figure out how to get on the track.

The F-USA cars just added are from the 1998 CART season:

Ah yeah that happens a lot with Rfactor mods lol, but on this track once you would eventually find your way out of the parking lot and onto the track, you'd just get lost again

 

I'm just going to say it, these are the best driving cars in Sim Racing

 

I've only managed to test a handful of cars since 1.3 dropped but all of them felt great with default setups on my baby DD. These CART's are no exception, really enjoyable.

 

Some bugs:

In VR the Reynard left mirror is wrong. It shows the ground and in general acts strange, The right mirror is fine. Other cars mirrors are fine.

In Cleveland many of the tyre barriers you can just drive through. Especially on barriers near turns 8, 9, 10

 

There are three different chassis, that drive differently. Reynard has more than one engine. So not identical at all.

 

Thrilled with the new tracks and cars. Just wondering if rolling starts are now required. My options are grayed out along with formation lap (no longer can select a standing start). Can anyone else confirm this?

Edit: this limitation only exists on the two new tracks of USA Pt2.

I only did one online race and that rolling start with 27 cars was a mess. Panic did set in for a moment, until I realized I had no control of the car. Great fun racing with 27 people in these amazing cars at my home track.

 

Funny, I didn't think of it like that but yeah, I would change the name to F1-USA.

I notice the same thing on other cars since I bought the game months ago but I didn't bother to mention it. Cars like Formula V10 Gen 1 & Gen 2...which are my favorites but never get to take advantage of their side mirrors while driving. They're always facing downward, I don't know if this is normal or if I have to change some settings. If you say move your seat back or lower your head, then the wheel is too far from me and virtually don't line up with my arms and hands in VR. So it doesn't make sense.

 

The "gummy" tire behavior once present on Copa Uno and Copa Fusca is present on this new Fomula USA.

I just bounced on a curb and when landed the car just almost instant stopped instead of sliding a little more. Fells like the car have four Pogobol as wheel lol.

Don't know what magic you done with the Uno and Fusca, but maybe it's time to do once more. Overall this car is very easy to drive... I was expecting something more wild. Mabe it have much more grip that you were expecting.
