In GT3 races ABS and TC are used all the time by all teams/driver because it makes the cars faster.

There might be some truth in that regarding TC . No matter how good you are on the brakes though you won't be as effective as a modern abs system

Does ABS somehow not function properly in Brazil?

If you are driving now and abs & tc car and you had driven back in the day cars without , i mean normal car not racing beast, you can feel the difference in turning an breaking in all weather condition. If you can on wet tarmac, calibrate your foot better than a cpu, kudos to you.
    After 30 yrs driving i can't.
Speaking of sim, if is possible on Ams2 do a better time with electronic disabled, is not realistic. Imho

    Yes, that's what I said.
TC and ABS isnt a a binary setting. You can have different levels of TC or ABS. You set it such that just barely use it, as using to much slows you down.
I don't see how that is a controversial opinion.

Not necessarily, as an ABS system cuts the brakes when it detects lock. This can result in a longer braking distance, as the effective time spent on the brakes is reduced.

    Quick edit:
It also effects tire wear, TC in particular. As allowing the tires to break traction jas an effect on the rotation of the car. I think steelcast used it in one the GT3 setups (the McLaren I think), as a means to reduce rear tire temperatures.
So as it is just another thing you can use in the setup, it can be used to get quicker lap times. Which applies to both using more or less electronic aids.

Mate, you litterally just said to turn them OFF…

Maybe you formulated your anwser the wrong way, but turning them OFF is not the same as “turning them down as much as possible while still being able to kick in when necessary”.

Ofcourse you shouldnt set them so they correct more than absolutely necessary, but modern ABS systems on a GT3 car can brake more effectively in those types of cars than a human driver can. I think this mostly has to do with the fact these cars are fairly heavy, and I think the raw power of these engines ramping up is also something that is too much to control with just your right foot.
Ill stand corrected if you point me to GT Series factory teams that run their car without ABS/TC.

So I stand by my original post that these cars are meant to be ridden with (at least some) ABS/TC, because it makes the cars faster.

You really can! Take off the ABS and bump you're brake pressures up to 100% and you can lock no probs until you overheat the brakes and get fade. Maybe have a look at you're hardwear or calibration in game. If you have a loadcell brake maybe adjust the amount of pressure needed for full input.

Whilist we all eagerly await the new update, i noticed alot of posts since update 1.3 saying everythings better, but whats happened to the GTE cars? The tires go off (especiallly if using softs) after like 5 or 6 laps? I must concure ive noticed myself, but its not a problem, its actually why this sim continues to impress me! Sorry ive not got time to type a detailed explaination, but it took over 5 hrs to get this video done, uploaded and everything, so in very, VERY short, its cause of your tire temps, and enviroment temps. Here it is in more detail. Reiza, thankyou, and Merry Crimbo! Hope your all having a great time, eating way too much, getting soozeled on too much booze, and having a well deserved break! Bravo!
