Always nice to see the forum artillery arrive, good to know that Reiza still has some knights fighting the good fight for them and just shut down criticism at all costs. Could use some polishing on the passive-aggressive insults though.

It might come as a surprise, but having a healthy social life is not actually related to being annoyed at a company's bad job at communicating.

It's very simple, really. The "end of January"/"beginning of February" update is imminent as I mentioned above. Where I am writing from, it is still January. Nevertheless, Reiza has never promised the monthly update to come on the last day of the month, or even by the first day of the month. It is usually sometime between the last weekend of the month and first weekend of the following month. The notion being that arbitrary deadlines are not useful for a couple of reasons:
    1. It's more important that things be finished or ready, rather than dumping whatever happens to be in motion on the arbitrary date.
    2. A small team with limited resources is already under continuous stress just to keep up with the general flow of work. Adding to that stress by forcing updates on arbitrary dates is counter-productive if you want to keep your best team members motivated and allow them to live somewhat normal lives.
Despite this, Reiza still releases some things not fully polished (as does every other dev in the industry). Despite this, people still complain if things are late. They complain if things are not polished. They complain if there was a lack of communication--even about the release of an update that requires no communication because it was never promised for a particular date in the first place (as explained above). They complain if there is communication, but they don't like the content of the message. Etc.

In this case, there is no anticipated delay to the update that falls outside the normal release date range, so there is no need for a special apology or explanatory communication.

"the remaining Racin´ USA Pt2 items especially which had been projected to be included in the latest update haven´t quite made it in yet. We´d like to assure all who are eagerly expecting the remaining cars and track of this pack that these are well on the way and will be part of our first update of 2022 in late January."
this is what renato said the last day of december...he said january, not january/february.
In any case, that where you live is still 31...10:45 pm could it be? You can say what you want, but if they already had this delay last week, a statement would not have been bad. exculpating reiza all the time doesn't help.
I love AMS2, I have been playing it since its launch and I have seen the progress we have enjoyed in terms of physics and others. But today Reiza has not done well no matter what you say

I don't understand this desperation for the new content.

Give it one or two weeks everyone is going back to drive fking GT3 on fking Spa anyway...

If you look at the November dev update, exactly the same thing happened...they knew they weren't on time, at least a week or two earlier and didn't say anything. They waited until the last minute of December to say what had happened. That's not good publicity no matter how you look at it. A little more transparency with delays (when there are any), wouldn't hurt the studio.

Maybe you or the others like gt3 a lot, but not me. I'm not saying that I don't understand the delay or anything like that. If there is, then let people know. It's simple and beneficial

Polo TSI on Nords all the way! Have to stay prepared for next "Touristenfahtren" season this Spring.

Btw: the impatience might be because the delay is measured in several months already, not weeks or days.

Threre's actually a tonne of people waiting for oval for AMS2. my entire community bar like 3 people are pumped up for oval. hoping for stock car (nascar) when pt3 arrives. Now obviously it doesnt have to be fully branded actual nascar, i dont car if its one car with 50 liveries and they call it lefty turn boys, its needed to help bring a larger player base to AMS2 which is far more important than a lot realise.

Dirt oval is something else that would do wonders for AMS2 and i really hope that comes too. the amount of people that are willing to buy a game due to one series, one or two cars etc is crazy.. if we get a ford style superv8, a thousand aussies would buy the game.. having just the commodore stopd a lot of ford fans buying, not kidding either..
The ARC class needs more cars too, theres actually like 8 different models that run in that catagory and they picked the worst looking one of the lot lol

It's not about the content for me. The improvements in the beta are a nice step up. The problem is the communication. I would much prefer Reiza to give a roadmap that exceeds the timeframes they believe they will be able to deliver, and give a wider berth for wiggle room. Anyone should reasonably have known that people were expecting SOMETHING today. All I am saying is they knew earlier than today that the update may go into February and under the current circumstances (missed update from previous month) it wouldn't have hurt to have an official statement from Reiza "Hey guys we know you are all excited for the next update. Just finishing up final touches and we expect the release to drop by end of week" (assuming they feel like they will actually have it done within say 2 days)
Then, when they release it on Wednesday instead of Friday... Happy pandemonium ensues.
It's about managing expectations and Reiza dropped the ball here plain and simple.

I wouldn't say a tonne, that seems like a significant exaggeration. First of all how many are in your community, and how many don't already own AMS2? Maybe 400 people?

Secondly, my main point is that if they get ovals wrong or half-ass it, do you REALLY think your oval fans are going to be happy about that? I seriously doubt it.

If they do it right, I agree it could be a significant win but that means getting the rules of oval racing right, better netcode so door to door racing is possible and you don't get those collisions that look like the other guy was five feet away, etc.

If they just add cars and tracks it will be for nothing basically. Now I am NOT saying that is what they will do, I am just saying you don't get many casual oval fans, they tend to be pretty hardcore, knowledgeable and like to simulate ovals as best as possible. Anything shy of a dedicated and genuine effort to give the full oval experience will not be received well.
