Even at it's worst, VR is unbelivable how good it really is. I can't wait until I can crank eveything up to max one day. (Considering the world holds togeather anyway)

 

Do you mean me? I love VR in racing and have tried it, I was impressed on PC1 in a Vive original.

Considering you own some of the best gear available right now, your experience of VR is going to be about the best it can be, no?

 

I have know tested my settings in AMS2 in the worst scenario and I was still getting desired fps. I thought my situation was much worse. The only thing I’m thinking about is that I get a stutter during the first lap and wonder why this occurred. Tried the race twice and happened in different spots on the first lap

 

I think AMS2 runs fantastically on older cards and in VR is held as one of the best games for it.
A few of us have noted a weird stutter over the years, I used to get one whenever someone joined a server and often when passing timing checkpoints, since upgrading my pc it seems to have gone so I have since wondered if it was a storage bottleneck.

 

I have now tried the same thing in PC2 and AMS2 has better spray, better graphics and MORE FPS!

 

It is. I also played with an Oculus Rift and a 1080 Ti. Again, the best gear available at one moment.

 

What kind of FPS do you get in a storm at night with full grid?

I bought a 3080 with the hope that it will run AMS2 with a reverb g2 (when I can afford one) but I am also ready for the probability that I'm not going to get 80fps+ on max settings in all conditions, at all times.

I have a friend who like you has a 3090+G2 and he says he has to reduce some settings to get max FPS.

 

Maybe they use some cheap shots as giving an option to disable the Livetrack and use a simplified rain model or give an option to use a primitive light system. Other than that, I believe that would be too much effort for just a little gain... but I never touched the Madness Engine devkit and can't say what would be possible... just using common sense of what is basically rule o any other videogame engine.

The problem to start with this "please do optimize" is that people, as me, never worked with the Madness Engine and most of folks not even know the basics about gamming design/programming and will begin to repeat this "mantra" as if it is Reiza's fault that their computers can't handle most demanding settings with uber-resolutions and framerate.

 

Dunno. Thats such an edge case scenario. I have to look.

 

It also depends on the track you use. Light sources and the shadows they produce are likely the biggest perfomamce impact when racing at night.

With my specs (in my signature), on triples, maxed settings, storm, night, race start with a full grid of GT3s at Nürburgring, I get around 45-50 FPS for the first corner, then around 55 FPS until I'm out of the Stadium section the first time. From then on it's smooth 60+ FPS all the way until the end of the race.

 

Please Reiza, remove unrealistic weather condition from the simulator...

i've just bought a RTX 3090ti (formerly 1080ti with i7 8700k) and i have now micro-lag, principally when the car turns...i'm struggling so much to set it up....Thanks in advance for your settings advices !

 

Could do with how you limit fps (if you do). The best way is with RTSS which comes with Mai afterburner
