Please, let Renato and the team get some sleep now first. V1.4's changelog had more words than the Lord of the Rings book :D

So agree. Trainer implies easy, but these these things are far from that. Glad they are the game so I can use them to help improve my driving. Would love to see some training options like GTR2 had. You're never so good that can't improve some of your skills.

I mean it is drivable on default and default+ but if you try the file I posted, you will see the difference. That snap oversteer out of the corners is nearly gone. Now some may prefer that as it maybe more realistic and challenging but I am not a fan.

I think it would be a good idea if Reiza added this file or one similar to it to the base game maybe as a third option like Default ++ or maybe Default- would be more appropriate as I think it is that good and would give more enjoyment to more players that constantly complain about the snap oversteer in AMS2.

The Trainers are the opposite of easy (in real life, by design). They are usually the first rear-engined/tail-heavy cars that aspiring racers get to drive in real life. They are low and responsive like an over-grown go-kart...with cornering and braking g-forces that will be beyond many people's ability to manage. The only thing not so exciting is the acceleration.

By driving a low-powered car that otherwise has many of the characteristics of higher-spec open-wheelers, you can be trained or learn how to drive properly before killing yourself in or wrecking one of those more powerful cars. Lessons learned--brake in a straight line prior to the corner and then glide/accelerate out of the corner because that's what rear-engined cars do better than front-engined. Along with the use of threshold braking, you realize that the "training" is to drive almost completely the opposite to what you do in a road car.

Of course, the Trainers (and F-Vee) can still be a bit too much of a handful, which is why there are karts...the true starter racing vehicle.

Looking forward to the two Trainers getting their completed 1.4 updates (no date yet) so we can then enjoy them at their best.

Speaking of demands for the love of god can we please get some more modern FWD cars. Love the mini so much but tried to get my fix with rF2 and it crashes every time I try to load Dnington Park... and the graphics... GTR2 with the touring car mods has just as good of graphics and is some how more stable and I would argrue just as good of FFB to the apparent "king" of FFB.

I like the Formula Trainer Advanced for mashing the gas and yelling, "Yeeeeehaaw!" I hope they don't neuter it when they update it. It's riotous fun now. You might want to stick with wider tracks, though. :D

As for the Super V-8s, I was rampaging around Bathurst in one just the other day, and I thought it was great. I was turning some pretty mean Bathurst laps.

And I feel compelled to note...now I'm neutral on this, not taking any sides...but I must point out that I did a clean install when v1.4 was released, and I have missed all the issues being reported, except the ones that have been officially acknowledged and are being worked on.

So, there's that. The Super V-8s and a lot of others are great on my machine. Did the clean install do it? I don't know.

But you're tempted, aren't you? Maybe you'll get lucky and your Internet will be having one of its mysterious fast days. And even if it isn't, even if Windows Update and your Oculus software start gulping down your bandwidth, unannounced in the background, and your download speed is measuring in KBs, it couldn't take more than eight or nine days to download it again. You can leave your computer on while you sleep. In your waking leisure hours, you could go fishing. It's bound to be done by Tuesday after next. Go for it!

There is currently a bug in the automatic tire selection.
You may be using wet tires.
Do not use automatic by weather.

This automatic by weather feature should be disabled imho. However now that the public is used to that it might be too late to let it go

No problems here, The car is actually fun to drive.(Just tested on several circuits after reading this)
sometimes wrong setup seems loaded, reloading your setup (Going in "Tuning Setup" and leave it) helps me when the car feels strange.
I used Default setup and Default FFB with recommanded FFB settings for SimuCube Sport used for Pro

Interesting to hear you say that and I would have agreed, but I've just installed AMS2 on my Steam Deck and I'm playing it with TC/ABS/SC on full, AI on minimum, and it's a remarkably pick up and play experience for someone as clumsy as me on a gamepad. I've only played it on my PC with a wheel before, but it actually translates really well to a more casual experience and is very enjoyable.

Hello fellow simracers, my 1st post!

I couldn't agree more with what you've said.
The trainer car is a HELL of a lot of fun to drive!
Took me back 30 years ago when I got the opportunity to drive a formula ford car at Elvington Airfield, near York, UK.
Having spent all night driving the trainer car I was like a kid in a sweet shop, sweating buckets but smiling like a cheshire cat!
Great fun and congrats to Reiza on this latest update, I see a bright future for this sim!

These are the exact two cars I have had trouble with. I have driven close to 30 different cars and had a blast. Same track (Historic Spielberg) same sunny conditions. The Old Stock is a death trap and the Advanced Trainer vs ai at 100% has an impossible chance. Again a majority of cars I love great work Reiza.

Agree the Trainers are drivable and have been a favourite of mine since first purchasing in 2020 (Over 600 hours in ams2 use). I have had trouble with the ai ability and it’s ability to corner the advanced trainer much better with seemingly nowhere near the rear tire bbq that occurs for me lol. I do attempt to “go easy” however it results in the ai simply driving away, or “through me”. This could be unique to my testing grounds. Feel free to try :) Vehicle: FT Advanced Course: Spielberg Historic Conditions: Sunny, 100% ai, Max Aggression. Rolling Start. No change to setup.

Yes, I am also testing using the same Reiza recommended SC2 setup and default ffb. Majority of cars in my consistent test environment are fantastic. I have to adjust ai level sometimes from 85% to 120% depending on the vehicle. I think some ai work is being done by dev but I am fine if this adjustment is one you might have to make track to track. Not ideal but I imagine it’s a huge task to try to level every possible combination you can create in the sim/game.

The formula trainer car seems floaty to me just hovers from side to side without tire scrub sounds or effect
Do you think my files are corrupt or something ?
