You should be fine with a 4090. Although 70 FPS for VR might not be butter smooth.

 

If you take F-V10 to Spa on the date of the 1998 Belgian GP, the AI will almost assuredly give you multiple FCY with real weather

 

Yeah I will try some extreme conditions once I have all my apps and AMS2 installed, probably won't be for another 27 hours unless a miracle happens tonight, lol

What resolution do you use. Bare in mind that he's playing max setting and msaa high which on 1440p higher is not needed on a monitor.

So I just had a very quick run as I still need to play with settings for both hardware and in AMS2 but I did all graphic settings cranked up in game. Did a test day in a stock car at Fontana oval and averaged 363fps with a max around 390fps.

I then setup a race at 2022 spa in same car, field of 29 AI in a thunderstorm starting at 2am from last on the grid. I had a minimum of 195fps at race start and that increased to around 236 after a few corners. Obviously I need to spend more time to get a proper gauge on fps.

 

Being first on the grid is actually a bigger stress test than being last believe it or not. The frame rate dips with more headlights behind you it seems. Still, thats some impressive frame rates.

 

Okay, I will have to try that tomorrow then. My old 3090 would have been well under half that at the rear of grid at same settings.

I still just wanted to say how amazing Spa 1970 is! You should also check it out in winter setting, patches of snow, leafless trees, it look so lifeless, chilling, still, but in a good way! Cause that whats winter's like. I've actually visited, and drove, the old circuit last January. The vibe is exactly the same, its great. The only real difference was that the cows were in their stables in stead of the cold meadow. I guess the AMS2 cows are hardcore

 

New nomination for the sim feature devs should implement after all the important stuff is done: livestock and wildlife appearance frequency rate based on ambient temperature sensitivity. Can't be that much coding

Are you running MSAA or SMAA with super sampling? I find the super sampling at ultra gives smoother textures especially on cars at angles vs MSAA maxed, but it causes my 3080ti to strain and in longer races I start to get stuttering even with gsync so I went back to MSAA maxed.

 

Vaqueiro would be a better title imo.
