    The March 711...Like something from Wacky Races! It's a time of true evolutionary pressure in engineering terms. So much of what we see in F1 is in this race, in one form or another.

    Yeah, that was my understanding too.
    I tried at Road America (which was a track I remember long FCY periods prior to the latest patch) , and the results were the same. I only have single lap FCY.

    Not too sure if it's only me having this issue ?

    Yes. The new turn 1 absolutely ruined that corner. I take 90's Estoril any day over the modern one. Yes I'm that easily excited.o_O

    I'm always very excited at the prospect of more classic tracks as well, even if it's just slight layout alterations. I'd even be very happy with classic versions of Monaco or a 2001 Spielberg that layoutwise didn't change at all. Imo it kills the immersion driving classic cars around the modern circuits with all the modern buildings, run-offs and walls.

    That first corner in modern Estoril is the worst corner since the final chicane in modern Spa, though that is probably unbeatable. I despise that chicane.

    Also I noticed the AI don't cause the CTD because I've run them vs the very similarly paced Group A with zero issues

    Yes that makes sense. The culprit has been found already and it would indeed not affect AI.

    This. It still baffles me how, after two world wars and well into the jet age, aero in the context of racing was still in its infancy. Some of the early high wing designs look truly Snoopy vs The Red Baron to me, and just a few years later the cars looked like 1930s Flash Gordon spaceships.

    From my on-paper, armchair, 20/20 hindsight perspective it seems a no-brainer to simply flip the tech 180 degrees and force the wheels into the ground while minimizing drag as much as possible, rather than creating lift while minimizing drag as much as possible.

    On the topic of jumping, I accidentally discovered that loosening the diff on the Vintages and the Retros makes the landings much safer. I was struggling with some understeer, made some adjustments, and then forgot to go easy before Flugplatz, but to my surprise the car was very stable upon landing.

    Tried the same thing with some other cars and it seems to work, though I'm not sure I understand the physics behind this.

    Yes the old corner was far more technical. Although it probably doesn't help overtaking compared to the modern version.
    The part I despise more is the hairpin towards the end of the lap. That is horrible indeed

    When I read such such a comment to my post which is pointing out that the AMS2 pretty "dynamic" camera movement are much more close to how a real racing car are behaving - then I ask myself if you actually have studied the video.
    Because if you now do then you will see that the camera is absolutely not fixed to the hopping car chassis.
    The camera is supposedly fixed to the naturally smoothed out head of the driver.
    Just like it is possible to set up the camera in AMS2.

    Do yourself a favour and check the video out.
    Because then you will discover that the camera are NOT following the car chassis´exagered bouncing around.
    So much about your postulate that my post is not a socalled "factual argument".:)

    Actully, the camera is fixed to the helmet/head, not the EYES witch moves INDEPENDENTLY of the eyes that have a natural damping effect Video proves my point actually.

    When they show the helmet/eye view in F1, it was noted by former F1driver (and current simulator driver for Mercedes AMG Petronas) Anthony Davidson that the movement was exaggerated because the camera would need a gyro to really see what our eyes would see.

    Either way, I don't really care what other people think (nor should anyone care about my opinions!) I just think the options should be broad to accomodate everyone.
