I don't think it's a licensing issue. If licensing was a problem they'd have removed Indianapolis from the beta like they did with F-USA 2022. It might be the same issue that caused Fontana and Gateway to be removed in a previous RC update.

Sometimes the way ABS acts when you change BB can be counterintuitive.
If you move ABS a lot rearward you may cause awkward and very varying behaviors depending on how much you are braking and if you are at the same time steering and/or there is a slope.
With the weight transfer and hard braking and steering ABS the car may be very very oversteering and lose the rear making you feel as if you locked it.
With the same BB if your braking zones are always straight and you just go for a chicane the same car may feel understeering.
In other words ABS is there to maximize long slippage management: if you move the BB very much to the rear you increase the chances that you car behavior swings between under/oversteer at every corner depending on many contingent conditions and therefore cause the wrong perception that ABS is not working properly.

Ok, spent some time testing RC:
Hakkinenn's McLaren still has the sound bug.
AI still bunch up and dont overtake each other, at least with fast open wheelers.
UI still doesnt register some clicks when adjusting gear ratios.
MP still suffer from 1 guy having bad ping.
Still cant filter out lobbies with password.
Too many players in session bug still present.

but hey, there is new content..

Yeah new content is great for a couple of days...

Then the glaring bugs slowly come back into focus...

The set up bugs, be it mouse recognition on multiple pages of the set up being absent until you switch pages a couple of times until the mouse is recognised on the page you want again... Or be it the fact you have to reset your set up to defaults to change between Low drag or regular cars or from track to track or even from heading back to the garage via the pause menu...

These bugs not only waste time but are pretty game breaking for those not aware that a reset will fix it or that the default set up isn't locked... Having to reset the set up so often basically makes saving a set up useless as you are better off using screenshots so you can reset to default and have a reference to work from on the screenshots... As even loading a set up can cause wonky physics...

Then there's the MP prediction which is still stuck on GTR2 levels when with a bunch of decent pings for the P2P system, it's ok but it's far from smooth... But when just one driver with a bad ping joins the whole server suffers from random warps and completely different experiences as the prediction shows cars that are running wide hitting the apex and those that are on the apex running wide... The whole grid gets effected when there's a blip in someone's connection as well...

I do hope that the hold up for the release is that there's even small improvements in either of these glaring issues... But it's more than likely regular game development issues that pop up with new features being added...

It'd be nice to get a helmet template that actually has the face connected to the sides like most other helmet templates... But I'd be much happier being able to have races online no matter what the time and placement around the world of my competitors as well as stamping out those set up bugs so that far more are encouraged to race online...

You are right and I stand corrected - perhaps this highlights the lower value some of us place on historic layouts by not considering them to be separate from the main track when there is clearly enough work involved for that to be the case.

    Just noticed this:

Does this mean these messages can't be hidden at all now?
I hope not as I enjoy driving in VR with no HUD or pop ups.
Although considering a lot of dashboards still don't show correct TC/ABS/BB settings, I still have to show minimal HUD sometimes (will this ever be fixed?)

Aren't we meant to be getting limited tyre set options in this update?

The fogged mirrors bug is still present in the game, also.
The bug with wrong displayed class on server list is also still in the game.
The AI on ovals is... weird. They are at the same time too fast and too slow, but then after a couple of laps they are too fast.
The AI still closes DRS when next to the car in front, tucking itself behind it instead of making the overtake when they clearly have the opportunity to finish the move.
The AI still cut corners without any penalties.
Either I don't understand how to leave the pits in Cleveland, or there is a bug that always gives the player the warning of crossing the pit line. I think it is a bug, because I follow exactly what the AI does, yet I get the warning. Or maybe they are cutting it and do not get any penalties for that.
The way the AI drives through any track is still a odd, being too fast, too grippy, too slow here and there. The AI feedback thread has it all reported.
The bug with Surround and smaller than max resolution where the viewport of the game world is not rendered is still present.

Dude... c'mon. That is objective feedback. What do you want me to post? Cheese? Funny jokes? Ask for more tracks and cars? Or should I just not post anything at all? You tell me.

I can also do (honest) praising:
    • FFB feels great
    • Track environment is almost unmatchable (I think only ACC is on the same level)
    • The fact AMS2 has so many Brazilian tracks is unvaluable
    • The AI track-rejoin logic is perfect (at least in my experience, it is better than most humans)
    • When all stars align, AMS2 is actually god damn amazing
And there are more that could be listed. However enough people do the praising.

I think feedback on what is wrong or not working is more valuable.

This is the fix. You now no longer need a hud displayed to display changes to brake bias, TC/ABS etc. The text pops up for a second and then fades out. It's perfect for VR and having a minimal info screen.

What are you talking about? This feedback is about the RC, not the beta. My feedback on the beta I do on the beta thread.

I don't understand your beef against me, mate...

Nevertheless, I do appreciate your work on liveries, and I don't hold any grudges against you personally. Quite the opposite actually, I see you as one of the true contributors to sim racing.
