Automobilista 2 V1.4.5.2 & New DLC Packs RELEASED!

Content wishlists not being fulfilled and important features being stricken with bugs aren't comparable... Anyone who is expecting specific content with all the licencing issues these days is in no way a comparison to someone expecting a modern MP experience in 2023... If it was 1993 you might have a point...

This thread being both the release thread for the base game and the DLC is the reason that both overlap... But neither truly belong here...

Complaining about other people complaining is worse than the complaining in the first place... As it's not focussed on the original topic and instead on the posters... Therefore derails the thread unnecessarily...

 

The only thing people should be allowed to ask is about the Bikes DLC, the Dogs DLC and the Cheese DLC. Anything else should be insta-ban.

 

This. Just because someone is loud, opinionated and kinda rude doesn't make them a scion of truth or even right. Criticisms should be believability-weighted based on how much evidence, telemetry readouts, comparison to real cars etc. are included in them. Popping up every six months to write a wall of text -style rant may be cathartic, but it's not going to make any difference to what Reiza are doing.

Only problem is that the dev update is no longer the February dev update

 

The only problem I have with the announcements is that they are wrong - I do not need an announcement that this or that will be ready at the end of this month or something like that. When I sit there the evening at the end of the month waiting for something announced by Renato and finally we receive a very short message why it is postponed, I feel like waiting for a date which doesn`t come.
Noone forces Renato to announce things they can`t finish in time. If it happens once a year or so, its ok, but they did not almost match any annoucements they made last year... so why should we read them anymore. Because we are interested in this product.
I really like AMS2 right from the beginning. But the worst thing are these wrong announcements.

 

Wait, the Dogs are using the Bikes to get to the Cheese? Or...

 

Look at ams2 like a Brazilian beauty, you will melt in her hands, she will treat you with Latin temperament and you will forgive every date you have been waiting for when she finally pays attention to you again.

I thought ams2 fits better for this than Renato.

It's March, February has passed 13 hours ago (middle Europe)
So no Feb Dev Update.

 

Valve-time: nothing for 10 years.

Reiza time: February has 43 days.

 

You should have learned. The MonthX dev update comes after MonthX ends. It is the rule, not the exception.

The name refers to the period it summarizes, not the release.

If you are hyped about ams2 just launch the sim.

 

Except for the fact the last 5 MonthX development updates were published before the end of MonthX....

We were also advised that Bathurst 83 would be released during the month of January, then before the end of February. I'm pretty sure it's March now.

I don't really care but I think a quick "Hey guys, we're running a bit behind with the X update..." would go a long way.

 

Regarding the timing and release of announcements and updates, just remember the following:

Madness engine = Rube Goldberg Machine

From a programmer's perspective, the Madness engine is obviously such an impractical and overly complicated mess--like a house of cards where every card is connected to every other card by the thinnest, most-invisible piece of thread. Reiza have already achieved much to demonstrate its potential and will undoubtedly continue to realize even more of it. But clearly, even after all the work they put into the V1.4 of the title to sort out the physics, etc. and create a satisfactory foundation for future development, it appears that there may never be a way to fully escape the Madness.

In the meantime, you have choices within this realm: Seek out those oases where simulated physics, human behavior, and the like correspond to reality, or accept the chaos in those places where they do not.

 

1. You obviously never developed extremely complex software in your life...
2. Also, I would prefer to be regularly updated from Reiza, even if it is about recalibrating expectations or timelines due to unforeseen circumstances, like new bugs, employee sick or leaving the organization, etc...

 

You forgot about the people who reply with "There are more important things to do than the X thing You want". Always confuses my why people even bother with such pointless remarks when suggestions and ideas are voiced here all the time and the Development Team knows best what is more and what is less important from everything that is being said, they don't need someone random on the iternet to tell them that.

 

They are only being helpful.
