    who cares
    RD is not the world
You can always download it at the modders site , there are enough hints in the net to find it.
    WHO NEEDS RD?

Yeah since the Porsche buyout I've been thinking of moving to another site... But the question is where...

But it is kinda like the YouTube problem where YouTube is so sh** yet there is no good alternative therefore everyone is still on YouTube.

while I agree with you, and I already downloaded the mod, the Kaos mod site apparently is only giving the 1.0 version (RD was on 1.01 or something) and for us in the modding bubble it’s easy to find, but for the average person having those mods on a big platform such as RD is always great and very useful

it’s a shame RD or some/one of their mods is being so annoying though.

Along with timely articles about ExoCross and Ride 5, the News section at RD really ought to already contain a statement regarding why they chose to remove the IR-18 mod for AMS2. That's as newsworthy--and directly related to why most of us subscribe to RD--as any other information they publish. A missed opportunity for substantive discussion and feedback.

afaik the difference of 1.01 was only a little change in a livery, not any functional part.
The reason why they removed it again was an entry in the readme with
reference to 'questionable website...', this was the link to the bootfiles on Mediafire.
imho RD is a 'questionable website...' o_O

Ehhh... This kind of thing isn't uncommon. Just like emulator developers won't have any mention of where to find ROMs or system OS files. It's a question of how far into legal greys you wish to dip. It's like Skyblivion, Fallout 4 "Mohave" projects, or other games that mix assets. Remaking a game in another game is fine, but reusing sounds, textures, models, etc. seems to cross a line.

There's already guides on how to install mods, so maybe references aren't fully needed. Unfortunately, a similar thing happened in the AC drift space as "the spreadsheet" got taken down. It was nice to have a regularly updated list of every new mod without having to dig through 5-6 different websites.

This is not the case, rfactor2 has always supported adjustable headlight counts, and when limiting the number of headlights to between 5-10, you can get a great experience with a stable frame rate more conducive to driving at night or in the rain, but I do question whether reiza has the ability to modify this part of the code.

The issue is that the bootfiles originate from there...

Removing the link from the readme isn't enough apparently...

Somehow this is too much when compared to the AC rips or various websites that we can be sent to from downloading a pack only to find out it's a link to a website...

Models and skins still require work, but we have the basics for the physics almost worked out for a Speedway and Short Oval version...

So after the last update the indycars 2023 are disappeared in the game.
Have they patched it out from the game??

They are not in the game. When the game updates steam rebuilds the vanilla structure. After an update, to enable mods you must download the new bootfiles and enable them with JSME (and reinstalling the mods, though some bootfiles distributions come with some of them enabled -e.g. those from thunderflash's site-).

    This is technically correct...

Although there are updates which don't break mods... Like when the Formula Inter was introduced... There was no need for new bootfiles in order to get the Indycar to work... Activating the Indycar did deactivate the Formula Inter though as the Inter wasn't on the vehiclelist...
