NASCAR physics aren't anything special... But the Deltawing is a project that I'd love Reiza to tackle because I know they'd nail it like they have with the BT46B...

 

Or in my case two children I dont care about, lol

 

Maybe someone can add the RB X2010 into the sim

Do not understimate NASCAR physics on ovals, you need to have every single aspect of the physics completely nailed to recreate the racing correctly without fudges and shortcuts.

iRacing, widely reckoned as top dog in oval racing, struggled for years trying to recreate multi lane racing. It would work only on top esports series, but would be absent in regular series, even top splits of it, proof of how finnicky it is. You need to model correctly not just the balance of a high mass car at high speeds, but also how its aerodynamics affect cars around it in all directions, how it transfers the heat of the tyres to the ground, and how it transforms the layers of rubber into grease, making grip available move around and have drivers search for it. Like rain, but without the water

 

It was really cool watching racing like Darlington and Bristol Dirt (especially the latter) because of how the race went on the preferred line moved closer and closer to the wall.

 

These are largely issue that iRacing has fudged to get right... As their tyre model doesn't go as in depth as you'd want it to... But then everything in sim racing involves some fudging to get the feeling...

From my position it's a lot to do with the tracks and tyres, which are out of my control in AMS2... But Reiza have already done a lot of the work for both and will only improve the Speedway tyres in 1.5...

There's no need for special tyres, as there would be for the Deltawing...

I think I found an issue in the formula junior cars garage. Please look at my setup at the time trial bh,donington,oulton tracks. If you have 0 height,the wheels are in the air, And I'm beating everybody.

 

Not a bug. Reiza knows that hover car racing is the future and that's already implemented in their physics revisions. Impressive how far they can take this sim!

 

At least no one can complain about the tyre model with this one

 

I'm not sure... People were already complaining here that cars were floating and were not connected to the tarmac

 

Those people were just ahead of their time ^^

 

NASCAR has been struggling for years to recreate multi-groove racing...

 

And yet we already have that in AMS2...

 

Who says you have to drive only current spec cars?

 

Due to Update 1.4.8 all "other" cars feel broken ;-)

There is a new post on RD about the v1. 4.8 update and it is quite scathing.

 

The majority of comments about AMS2 on RD is scathing tbh. I tend to ignore these posts. Same with Iracing by the way. I can't understand this tribalism and pure ignorance.
