Is this a bug?

Formula HiTech cars are woderful but I can't hear Gen1 tyre sounds.

Gen2 wheels squels normally when car slides a little on the corners.

Maybe it's there but should be heard more clearly as in other cars. In my opinnion tires are not squeling normally on corners. However there is some bottom noise of the tires.

 

In Benetton cars had to keep it pressed IRL too

Interesting. Of course today, paddles would be lighter than a mechanical lever because either system would be attached to the same electronics-controlled gearbox. The history of how all these innovations came to be and were used is fascinating.

 

Has anyone noticed lighter tyre wear after this update?
I setup a race a cadwell park with F-Classic Gen3's, it's a 22 lap race with 5x fuel/tyre wear. The AI pits 5 laps into the race, but my tyres at the 5 lap point still has 90% of life in it. I did this exact same race prior to the update and my tyres were significantly more worn 10 laps in compared to the current patch's 10 lap usage.

 

Anyone notice any extreme aggressiveness with AI in some instances?
My case: F-USA Gen 2 | 97% AI (I should have bade it higher ) | Cleveland | Low AI aggression

AI cars were taking VERY aggressive defensive lines, cutting corners, cutting across from the outside, particularly T7 and T9 & 10.

On old tires the AI would be desperately slow, but enter a blind rage when I tried to pass, but almost intentionally holding me up on corner exit.

Not complaining, maybe it's an aggression setting for the car? The AI is good too, they're just ***holes!

 

Can it be that AI is not too much effected by fuel consumption in certain classes?
Did a 30 minutes race in F_HiTech Gen2 (fuel wear: authentic) and AI achieved almost same laptimes than in qualifying right from the beginning, whilst I could only later in race when my car was light.
Or does AI carry too much fuel in it's qualifying laps?

Cars are fun to drive btw.

 

Finally did some MP and SP racing yesterday and here is my feedback.

Positives:
The new AI is now enjoyable and competent and the car handling in most cases is better, leading to a huge reduction in frustration with the game. Now I can only be angry with myself for making my own mistakes.

Pending issues:
MP QOL:

• Default settings still awaiting being opened up to include steering lock and brake pressure as these are more control input related than setup related and don´t affect car performance.
  
• The race countdown is still too long. 60 seconds should be more than enough before a race starts.

Pending game improvements:

• Some cars´ engines, like the Nissan GTR3, are still much quieter than the others when using external cams. Please balance them
  
• The cars still have an initial turn-in that is too responsive in my mind. Please allow the possibility to reduce steering lock below 14 degrees as this may be the culprit rather than any physics issue.
• Only the Citroén DS remembers the custom external cam adjustments done by CTRL-K. Please do this for all other cars.
• Some default car setups are still off. An example is the Sauber C9. This car still feels like it is on older physics on stock setup

 

Started a championship F1 1990 with real tracks, real dates, real weather. So much fun. Piquet leads the championship so far after 3 races, then comes Boutson, myself, Senna, Prost and Mansell. Love it!

On my wishlist are some of the missing tracks like Paul Riccard, Mexico City with it's hugely dangerous quick bumpy corner before the finish straight, aso

Now I also have to count the days before the highlight of the year appears. Let's say 14 days left and I hope it's not gonna take any longer. I would be massively devastated

 

The '93 McLaren is a joy to drive, wouldn't have thought that I enjoy those hightech cars so much. Great addition!

 

Any information about the time schedule? I know it was announced to be released at the end of the life cycle, but now 4 years later still no sign of it...

The AI have come a long way and are fun to battle. However, I would like to see more human like mistakes, like brakes locking up, spinning in turns, contacting other cars, etc.

The game overall is pure bliss. Multi-player improvements will push this game to the top.
