I’m surprised to see this, as I very much believe there is a difference (though you are making me question it…) and the 2024 feels heavier, with more grip, and is a lot less prone to go into little slides. But I am no expert here. I just did both cars at brands hatch, and the difference was pretty clear around the turn 2 (I think) hairpin.

 

Just wondering, do the stockcars have no indicator for the P2P in the dashboard in real life?

 

I am testing the new update with 20 minute races and I see an important error: the races do not end after the last lap, but it is necessary to do another additional lap!! When you pass the finish line with the time completed at 0.0, you are warned that there is the last lap left, but in reality there are two!! and the third time is the quiet return.

 

AI goes a little in the middle of track, but nothing too agressive in the middle of pack (what is real, by the way). I will try race with just two cars in track, short race, 120 AI max agression short race.

If in this scenario AI didn't defend like Perez, something is very wrong, I guess.

 

In the following video you can see the problem. With the time expired, the last lap should be lap 10 but you also have to do lap 11. Twitch I have also seen another problem: flickering artifacts in the sky after the first corner. They are like pieces of the treetops that appear in the sky. can be seen when making the curve after minute 23.27

 

I feel a difference in the tyres and the car, the feeling through to the track, it's not night & day by any means only a subtle change but it's there for me.

 

Anyone getting a massive FPS hit with the update? I went from ~80 down to ~50-60 fps on all tracks. I'll test again.

 

Do you have a rolling start? Rolling starts cause a lap count error.

 

One thing I forgot to mention: the dust clouds from cars running over dirtier parts of the track is nicely done!
The two bends in Indianapolis straight, when/if AI goes over the kerbs produces a nice in-a-distance cloud of dust.
Same if we detour and go graze our horses at Double Gauche, SPA.

 

Did start AMS2, got consistent 50fps.
ALT-TAB back and forth solves it.

 

Hello, the new Ultimate Gen2 formula is much better than the previous one, it seems to be more connected to the road. Well done.
I tested it quickly in Barcelona and I had a significant drop in FPS at the end of the straight on the first lap. I restarted the race and the same. This is the only place I have seen this.
The gear change animation is still absent when choosing the automatic gearbox.
Ibarra and Cascavel look great with these new graphics, I really like them.

 

Sorry I disagree with you. Below is my test video (updated F1 UG2 with default setting) . Start from 0:32 you can see if I put throttle too aggressive then it spun out at T4 with 4th gear. I also tested on silverstone and imola, it’s not like what you guys say you can max out the throttle when exiting the corner.

 

I didn't say anything about maxing the throttle out, but allowed to be much more aggressive with the throttle in that corner than earlier. I actually just like 10mins ago happened to try it out again and it's very forgiving there now, maybe not maxing the throttle out, but close anyway. Also in the T9, which was really unforgiving still on Friday (too unforgiving), now there is no problems, the rear might wiggle a bit, but the grip is regained quickly.

Don't get me wrong, I do think it's improved over the older version of the car as it feels more like "on rails" when driving cleanly (as I would expect), but still have that quite forgiving when on the limit.

 

After running a couple of short races, I've yet to see any offline dust. Is there a specific setting for the dirt effects or do they slowly build over time with longer races? Or is it only on certain tracks?

 

I have this drop in performance since Barcelona came out. Barcelona and Hockenhein in Stadium need a little more optimization.

 

I'm glad I stumbled on to your writing here. This is good information for all though. Would you please consider, while working on your new UI, to include information like this. I personally would like to have more reading and learn what is going on the way you programmed it so I can make more informed decisions on strategy. Sure we can go out and do 100 laps and figure it out from trial and error but it would be nice to know right from the start that this is our parameters to work with. AMS2 doesn't come with a manual, nor does any Sim really for that matter, but I think it would benefit to have more detailed explanations on what's happening behind the scenes.
I always thought it would be nice to have wet track percentages too. To say, "the track is getting close to 45% wet now, I really need to stop for wets/intermediates". Again, I know you can feel it while driving and find this out by trial and error.
Just a thought.

 

I touched nothing in the settings, tested at L1. Try the spots I've mentioned. BTW, I'm using current date (so spring time), but no real weather.
They really contribute to get a good racing atmosphere.

Not the situation I talked about, but also in Muslanne straight, there's dirt on the outside.
See the cars ahead. And me, in that position, also lifted some plumes up.

 

Why are more people not racing classic minis at beton?
