I agree 85%. That's why I dismissed my account after several years and now I am here (mainly).

They're very different sims. I hate the financial model, but if iRacing cars were more satisfying to drive it would be unstoppable. AMS2 is more of a specialist, it's not the best at some aspects, but it does others better than any other sim. IMHO, AMS2 is the definitive historic open wheel sim. It has plenty of historic or obscure tracks others don't, plenty of fictional "could have existed" cars, plenty of licensed recreations, etc.

Without having ever gotten into a real competition car, the ones that give me the best sensations (having used iRacing, AMS 1 and 2, Assetto Corsa, ACC and RF2) by far are the AMS 2 and the RF2, it is worth mentioning that I have a steering wheel G29 very basic, which makes it more satisfactory.

as a single player experience sure, but the multiplayer side of iracing is king of the hill and unmatched.

The model they should be working on is their pricing model.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, it's an even bigger scam than star citizen.

I agree it is disappointing and lacks some communication of what's happening in the game itself. However, there would also be a lot of people steamed that they were allowed to set TT times in the interim (on old physics) when it was known in advance 100% that the times would be reset (soon). Not sure which one should override the other, but it isn't black and white.

    tbh imagine the bliss of
    - the physics, modding and handling of AC1 with
    - the polish and presentation of ACC with
    - the content, offline modes and pricing of AMS2
    - the online ranking, matchmaking and scheduling of iracing.

Now that would be the ultimate SIM :). Hope to see you all in AC2 next year :)

Tbh I consider AMS2 >> AC (and any other) in terms of physics, tires, handling, ffb, motion cues. I think that madness engine with its seta physical tire model is superior to all the sims with empirical (patchejka/proprietary) tire models.

I mean… iracing has been a real product since before Star Citizen was even a concept, let’s be fair here :D as expensive as iracing is, there’s people dropping the cost of a real car on spaceships that aren’t guaranteed to exist…

    Are you serious here?
Or is it some kind of "argument" you are producing to downplay the fact that Reiza a lot of times have resat the TT LBs at the same time they uploaded a new update (give or take a few days).
    Just as simple as that.
The on ly critique have sometimes been from 1-2 people who would prefer to be able to still see their old PBs on the LB2.:D

ByTheWay: This time the TT competition have been destroyed for months. Without any explanation. Probably because there is no valid explanation.
And if you read in as example the Racedepartment forum and also here the publicity damage have been rather severe.

Reiza suspended Time Trial and not eliminated it.

Yes, every time the TT boards are reset we hear the same distress that times were lost or couldn't be "saved." Someone who cares about this will not want to waste their time creating new records that are going to have such a short shelf life. If you didn't care, you could just do your own laps offline and ignore the TT altogether.

What offline modes ?? There is no offline options, just a barebones Custom Championship. What AMS2 needs is a My Team mode like the F1 games have, that is honestly still the benchmark of single player presentation and quality experience on the current market and nothing else comes even close to it.

Developing the car, allocating the budget for the season, playing with a friend in co-op mode on the same team... I'm not the biggest fan of the F1 games but I think some aspects of the career are well done.

I think its because they expected to do a release and were preparing the LBs but that release got delayed. It seems to have even caught their social Media person by surprise being as they posted something along the lines of "Get Ready for Action" on X and nothing happened! People got ready but there was no Action. :D

Quite. AMS2 is entering its final stages now, and players are beginning to hit their familiarity threshold (as I call it!), You can’t really time a strategic release too accurately, but launching some impactful DLC to ride a bit of that big-launch glitter wouldn’t hurt. Really, AMS2 should be turning into AMS3 by now anyway: Let’s face it, WRC is the least scary of AMS2’s imminent competitors.

I can run AMS2 in VR with Quest 2 max resolution and a 3060Ti locked at 120 FPS, with "helmet like" FOV.

This is, for me, a massive positive point for AMS2: amazing visuals with great performance, even in VR and modest harware.

No way you get 120fps in the rain or at night (you being the first car on the track).

Do yourself a favor and try the 992 cup in RF2. In my opinion, the best car in sim racing. Force feedback in ac is indeed excellent but physics especially tyre physics is above in RF2.
