I was used to drive with cars without power steering for many years, as I am rather old.
But never had a ride in a F_Vee yet.

Had a chanve to try out some Lada/Zhiguli/VAZ 2101, 2103, 2105, 2106 a bit when I was a teenager 20 odd years ago. Honestly, I don't remember much about the general feeling but if you wanted to turn, you needed to TURN and when you wanted to brake, you needed to BRAKE.

2101 and 2105 are available for AC in RD, I would say they are pretty well done and accurate mods as they make my wheel clip all the time :D

I've drove a GAZ-24 Volga, a Lada/Zhiguli/VAZ 21063, and a 21072. It was no problem to drive without power steering. As long as you got the car moving even by a little bit, the wheels would turn easily.

My grandmother was born before WW2 and she drove many cars before modern power steering, gearboxes and brakes. While admittedly memories can be distorted, I don't remember her looking like this:

I had a Golf 2 GT (1987) back in 1992 with 185R14 tyres. It came without a power steering that could have taken away some of the mighty 90PS. It was only an issue while standing. As soon as the cars was rolling the sterrign forces where no issue. Thjats the whole point about power steering... for parking in tight lots. At speed there is no big difference.

In some cases and in cars that don't have speed adative steering, a really cool feature, I think power steering makes the steering wheel to light for my taste.

Golf 1 GTI, also with 185 tires and a 30 cm steering wheel. Was a pain in the ass to steer the car when standing but was good for building up bizeps

Yep, in fact the blurb for the sports cars that had it back in the day, like Porsche, were always talking about how it kept feel by removing it at higher speeds. And probably still do.

Similar to the way they spent a lot of time and marketing cash trying to convince people that their tiptronic automatic gear box didn't have the flaws of typical automatic gearboxes.

I did mention not counting "puddle jumpers," aka small economy cars, regarding the power steering comment. I'll be more specific :) Anyone drive things like this 6-passenger behemoth with a 3 metre wheelbase without power steering?

Off topic but I can't resist.
My father had a Chevrolet Opala 1973 6 passengers, my teenager passion.
You need metric tools for carbody and suspension, and imperial tools for the 2.5L engine.
The Opala was a mix from Opel Rekord C with USA Chevy engines 2.5L (4cyl) or 3.8L (6cyl).

We have a lot of old-timers on here ;)

And, what a coincidence that's the pic I chose!

    Power steering or brakes?

My father ran a garage and did all the work on this car. Owned by a little old lady. Got it for 300 bucks. Power steering. I don't think it had power brakes, can't recall.

I did and still do. I own a garage so during the summer months its pretty common to see stuff like that because im one of a few shops that can still fix and modify them in my area.

Unless you drive a racing car at high speeds with big fat slicks.

Even my racing cart takes some wrestling and it definitely helps to work out your upper body to not get fatigued whilst driving it. Otherwise your hands will turn to mush very soon and you will lose ability to drive accurately.

When I turn up my Fanatec DD2 force feedback, then driving at Daytona banking in a sports car will almost bring a tear in my eye every time.

Mein erstes Auto, vor 23 Jahren..
BMW e34 524td '88... bestes Auto, zwar nur 115hp, aber Differenzialsperre 20%, 195er Reifen, auf nasser Fahrbahn ein Traum zu driften...

It's more like Pay to test, with some perc's.. Reiza gets a bigger player base to test with and the users get all the future content in a pre-paid sort of way .. all & in all it helps better the game ... :)
