Automobilista 2 V1.5 Officially RELEASED - Now updated to V1.5.0.5

There's pros and cons of being in beta imo:
-we beta players get to test new content and features before people who only own the regular game.
-we beta players get to experience bugs that only appear in beta builds, while regular players get a more polished version and experience less bugs.

 

When was it a free to play game?

 

I just saw something interesting. A while back I said that I'd notcied that the MP4 second brake only seemed to work when turning in one direction (not left or right), to which a lot of you replied that it was this way in the real car and was set for one direction.

Well, I just saw this video where David Coulthard described the system and said there was a switch controlling whether the pedal affected the left or right side and also some of its handling characteristics.

While adding that switch binding seems like a lot of work for a single car, it would be great if it could automatically affect either the left or right depending on whether the steering wheel is left or right of center.

Probably a long shot, but it's a shame the feature isn't really viable at the moment.

 

For what it's worth you're not missing out on any content. it's purely polishing and refinements right now.

 

Do tell, what we are getting in the new beta version that is so great.

 

I'm not in the beta, but i played ams2 yesterday and today, without paying extra.........

 

IIRC the advanced system with the switch wasn't added until the new MP4-13 next season. Year '97 MP4-12, as in the game, had it active only on one side, depending on the circuit.

AMS2 has always been a pay to play game as far as I remember.

 

Reiza was often accused of releasing unpolished content. Now the content is polished as best as possible.

 

One big negative is that the beta also takes another 100+ gigs of space... (and you want to have both installed if you want to compared the difference in handling).

From this article some time ago. It's pretty good and insightful read, especially for Mika and McLaren fans from that era like myself.

 

Don't feed the troll. His post history is just constant whining about where the update is from one update to the next. c/w "threats" to leave the forum etc that (unfortunately) are empty. He's not interested in the game - he's only interested in the next update - and I mean literally that - if you gave him version 1.8 he'd be saying "Where's 1.9?" 2 minutes afterwards. December 26th at his house he's saying "When is it Christmas?"

That's true, but one thing i would like it for MP4/12 is to fix upshift, it's sound like downshift (which is good) , but upshift should sound much more aggressive and raw

 

Oh, ok, I remember that article. When it was speculated that an iteresting vehicle would arrive in AMS2 I guess this McLaren car with the extra pedal and linked this article.

 

I don't think they could change it during a race, they had to decide before driving if it operates the left or right.wheel
AMS2 doesn't have a switch but makes that decision for you, depending on the character of the track you're racing, Isn't it?
