Automobilista 2 V1.5 Physics Development Update

Let's say I have a hard time imagining how anyone will manage to dislike them... My biggest issue with 1.5 is my fear of getting even _more_ boring GT3 lobbies because now they are a popular class and drive well...

The worst offenders have improved immensely ( Lotus 23, BMW2002,Caterhams, Old Stock, etc). I still had issues with the BMW M8 GTE, but it got some updates while in the beta and haven't driven it again, so won't judge till I try it later today.

All in all you have to be pretty biased against the game to find any major fault with any car. You will still have people that will prefer one sim to the other, that's inevitable. But there is no undrivable car in the sim now, like the Caterhams and the Old Stock where from before.

Just want to take the oppertunity to thank you for all the awesome FFB work. Trueforce is really coming along.
Custom FFB files are a great treat.
I'm sure i have much more to say about the dev log but for now, Thanks Domagoj and the rest of the team. Good stuff keep it coming.

 

I like GT3s too, lately I've been using them, and I liked them because they were more populated than the other categories, unfortunately. I left out all the others a bit for this reason.
I hope to return especially with the Formulas, given the recent improvements in wake and downforce.

Yeah, lost it when F1 Challenge was mentioned. It may be just me, but I never managed to get to grips with that one, it felt like the cars had no rear wing. But maybe I am in the minority and am just too bad at the game.

 

Great read and great stuff with v1.5.
Hopefully in the future the community gets more physics related commentary from Reiza so as to help everyone understand what is under the hood, how it works and ultimately how deep and complex it is.

AMS2 is easily my favourite experience right now for when I just feel like driving some cars, and it's only getting better.

Man, 70 years ago we 'd be gathered around the radio, now we can simulate fast and heavy machinery rolling around tarmac with accuracy and shoot many millions of electrons at phosphorus hundreds of times a second to make interactive flawless moving images. It almost defies plausibility.

Yeah don't even get me started on GT3 lol. Never could understand the obsession and fascination that most people and most developers have for them. It's like there's no other class of cars on the planet worth producing. Gt3, GT3, GT3, GT3, oh, I know what we should do, let's make more GT3 cars because we sure don't have many of those around!

it's because most racers are actually not very good, gt3's offer the easiest and safest way to drive fast which is why they are so well liked, plus they resemble super cars which car enthusiasts drool over
