Automobilista 2 V1.5 Physics Development Update

Congratulations.
I can gather from the forum readings there are many things to enjoy and be impressed with.
You and your 24/7 hardworking team never failed to impress with the level of dedication and effort over the years.
Hats off to all you guys and including the newer beta people that have moved to the other side, the additional input I'm sure has made a difference.

Has anyone been comparing how the physics affect lap times? I was just doing a lap on the formula ultimate 2019 (I don't think gen 1 ultimate had new physics) and my lap time is now 3 seconds slower than yesterday using the default setup.

 

Yes all the high DF cars got nerfed, which was definitely needed.

 

Porsche Cup & Super V8 aren't easy to drive but for some reason I find it quite interesting learning how to drive them.

 

Is it possible to roll this update back to what it was before?

The Simulator is perfect, it just needs a bigger grid with 50 cars, then it's perfect Renato listens to me putting 50 cars on the grid or 40, then yes it's much better, please.

Yes if you go to ams2 steam properties, click on beta, you should be able to click previous version to do a/b testing with the new physics (same place you select release candidate), but it will be a large download when reverting back to v1.5 due to all the new content

Hehe completely different from the EmilG bloke who misunderstood the humour so much that he disliked my comment.

ByTheWay: Im slowly adapting to the more "slidey" behaviour when the new 1.5 cars loose grip.
Because as commented (by me) its so gradual/damped that you cannot feel the exact point where it happens. But the advantage of the 1.5 TM is that you get more chances to regain grip.

Here’s clip of the F1 Ultimate Gen 2 car in a race and man oh man…these new physics are absolutely incredible. You can really feel where the limit of the car/grip is. Driving has never felt so good.

 

pit radio audio levels defaulting to zero must be a bug right? you're goihng to get lots of complaints about the spotter not working now

 

I am not sure if it was zero by default, i had it at 30 probably from the time i was fiddling with the sliders. But yeah that should be at least 50 by default.

This might be a very very unpopular opinion but i'm really not feeling the new physics on the formula cars, I mostly drive formula cars not much of anything else and I just dont like the new physics as much all my lap times have dropped atleast 3-4sec, with the formula ultimate gen 1, formula V10 gen2 and formula Reiza. Before I could match the real f1 pole positions but now I cannot even get close. I don't know if I should change my setups but i'm not a huge setup guy I almost always use default setup, but sometimes from leaderboards now it's just that the leaderboards haven't been reset so I don't really know what works with the new physics and what doesn't. Anyone else having same feelings or just me?

 

What don't you like about the new physics? What characteristics have changed?
