The past few weeks I was doing LFM races with the GT3 gen2. I must say the difference that this patch made for the way the cars drive and feel is really amazing. Absolutely the best it has ever been, for me at least. I feel a lot more connected to the road and get more feeling for whats going on with the car through the ffb. It is as if the tires got just a tad more flex and stickiness a the same time making them feel more like real tires, this is ofcourse noticable in cornering but also under heavy breaking when you can feel the car searching for balance but allowing you to keep that balance with micro corrections while braking. For me it is a very rewarding feeling and I enjoy driving the GT3 on Le Mans atm like never before!

Maybe these improvements should be getting more attention (there's a lot to be found on youtube about the trucks but not that much about the physics improvements) because it could convince more players to try (again) and start playing AMS2!

    Great job Reiza!

I can absolutely confrm that! Especially under heavy braking with the STT Track I noticed a nice FFB effect from the tires searching for grip! Amazing detail that adds a lot and that was not feelable before! Great work, Reiza!

    Yes, same but much faster.
Reiza solved sparks in VR and made great performance chances in core engine now. I have faith that this team can start now to really improve Madness Engine.

The biggest thing they solved for me is the bug where cars visually kept their damage when restarting a race. I had no faith that bug was ever going to get fixed, but when you give a group of passionate devs time and resources miracles can happen. There are no bugs that Reiza "don't want to fix" just bugs that are easier to fix than others.

What's happening, after the update, it's already the second stage of the championship, we have a disconnection of the race leader and it's not the same person, this is extremely bad.

I hope there are plans to return puddles in a proper way back onto the tracks when the rain is heavy enough and lasting long enough because right now aquaplaining that happens in real life does not exist in this game.

But that photo you’re showing doesn’t really have puddles IMO, just a very slippery surface layer due to the rain

Is there some conspiracy theory going on in the player base that puddles on race tracks are fictional now ? I firmly believe that this water here looks like a puddle has formed on the track and the spray might have an effect on it too.

Also a message from an actual F1 race, puddles exist.

No, there are plenty of threads where the lack of puddles and comparison to real-life footage is brought up, and I'm sure Reiza is aware of the arguments for and against reintroducing puddles.

My best guess as to why they haven't yet reintroduced puddles is due to all the required balancing work with the AI speed though/around puddles compared to the player, so it's a big task. And now that v1.6 finally is out the door, Reiza wants to focus on getting a lot of old backlog tasks done that depended on 1.6 to be done first. I think we will see loads of smaller updates this year with new content and quality-of-life fixes that have been in the backlog for a while. Just my speculation.

This is a recent post where puddles are brought up, see point 3 in the first post:

It makes sense to continue the discussion there.

I only wanted to say that the 3D artists at Reiza went to every track and cleared the gutters from garbage, leaves, debris etc which is one quite unpleasant task and all they getting is a grief that there are no more puddles ;)

That thread was actually created by me and I can confirm the idea was to complain about the current state of wet weather, main points were the performance of the slick tyre on the wet, visual indication of how wet the track is, Puddles on racetracks aswell as slipperiness of the rubbered line. Feel free to create a thread on the main forum aswell so more people can interact with it, but I can confirm Reiza is aware of the complains.

Thank you for the info. Since there is a thread like that already there is no need to make yet another one. I am glad they are informed and aware of the issue.

I just see standing water as different to puddles, no need to go to the extreme and say I believe in a conspiracy

That ist the top spot on my personal AMS2-wishlist! The GT3 Gen2 Porsche has been my favourite car in the sim for a long time and it's a shame that it has only a handful of liveries so you cant really use it as a modern Porsche cup equivalent.
The vanilla Porsche Carrera cup in AMS2 feels a little outdated by now so a new Porsche cup class would be AMSzing!

@Renato: Please answer with a "" to keep our hopes up!
