That's interesting, my memories of FXAA are that it is fuzzy too, interesting that when using them together that it gives a clear image.

Without question, a fantastic update. The 2005 models are right in my wheelhouse.

AMS2 has always had the reputation of having very good AI opponents (which was the main reason I chose it over other sims when starting this hobby) and I must say: v1.6.8.5 ist the biggest step-up so far. It is amazing what you talented guys at Reiza are delivering here.
I only did a few races since the update but in every single one the AI suprised me with skillfull defense, daring overtakes and natural-feeling mistakes (AI-level = 100%, 5x mistakes, high aggression).
It's a joy to race against them and is a massive gain for the whole sim.

Keep doing what you doing, Reiza, and keep your priorities straight! :)

FXAA does add blur compared to MSAA.

With the snowymoon mod using FXAA with TAA really helps give a clearer image without having to use crazy amounts of sharpening.

Natively the truck sims allow the use of TAA alongside SMAA which also gives a good image but the anti-aliasing isn't as good as with snowymoon.

It is a mod. You can do the same with Reshade:fxaa, taa, sharpen, etc

Absolutely love the new DLC and I've driven more AMS2 in these last days than I have in a while! I do have a question which might have been asked a ton of times before but how come when I turn down the number of clutches in cars to 2 from their default 6, the car feel becomes significantly better, I can push the car through corners without the characteric snap of oversteer and the sim honestly goes from great to the best feeling sim out there? I know this is all very subjective but I wonder if other people feel the same way?

This is a famous 'trick' to a less throttle-happy turning behaviour. As far as I can tell AMS2 has the best/most in-depth diff modelling in the biz (and everything else). I'm just glad you found it! you might also enjoy dropping preload on those cars that have it available to choose (standard I remember being about 100nm for a lot of cars, dropping to 70-80 can make off throttle behaviour much nicer and less understeery where necessary).

Will give this a shot as well, thanks! AMS2 at the moment is overall the best sim I drive for my particular requirements (single player racing) and in the recent patches it has really become the best feeling one as well.

I never said it was for AMS2, I was highlighting the benefits of being able to run TAA alongside FXAA. Maybe something that Reiza can implement in the future.

Since around 1.4, I'll admit I've been pretty on and off with this sim; I'd start it up every big update cycle, play around with it for a bit and drop it for some of my other titles...

That's changed with this update. Oh my god, I haven't had this game sink its' claws so deep to me in years. The new content has been wishlist material for me for YEARS as an ardent fan of GTR2 and the original GRID, and I can safely say it's the best execution of these cars in simracing, period. Barring the still slightly prevalent train issues, it's absolute nirvana to race against the AI with how much racier and more competent they are across the board. Bravo to everyone who worked on this one!

I rarely comment — but regarding this latest update… wow. Just wow.

This update has completely transformed the sim for me and reignited my enjoyment of AMS2. From the outstanding new content to the refined physics and improved AI, it’s clear how much care and passion went into this. Hats off to everyone at Reiza — you’re doing an incredible job and definitely heading in the right direction. Keep it up!

    I am probably wrong.
But i think you can force FXAA to be enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel?

Has anyone noticed fps decrease using the new content? I use Monaco at night with thunderstorm as a stress test and with gtr + gt2 2005 i have 20-30% less fps than with group a for example.
