I've never really understood what the traditional head movement and its related motion parameters actually represent in gameplay. Could you provide a more down-to-earth explanation?

This video is old but still relevant. A great overview by @Tarmac Terrorist. Give it a view:

Here we have to say it again (option "create new setup"):

Well at the end of the day they seem to be going in the right direction and this last update has bought me optimism that they could get it close enough, but they still have a bit to go, but as it is now, it’s enjoyable to drive so AMS2 will slide back into the rotation.

And there’s plenty of other titles to go race in, this is a big month for sim racing and as @Danielkart said, have fun, no matter what you’re playing.

    Sometimes Ams2 in vr isn't a sim, it isn't a game, it's an experience.
    I need a lie down.

I really like the new cars, tracks, and general improvements. The 2000s GT cars without ABS and TC are great, and also seem to have much sharper handling.

However, the bugs in multiplayer can really ruin this game. Today I'm getting all sorts of issues, stuck lobbies, lobbies giving 'too many player errors' when there should still be room, qually laps being interrupted when the session countdown-timer is not even close to 0, the game stuttering to no end for no reason until I restart it, and now in the last lobby, it got stuck again in qually, and it assigned host duties to me. Now the 'continue' button appears, but it doens't do anything. Also, apparently the games removes the 'exit/back' button in this situation?? After waiting for several minutes, all I could do is go into task manager to close the game. I really want to like this game but it's making it very hard this way.

I know it's not gonna happen but this P2P multiplayer code could use a full rewrite...

[Ps. I've been playing AMS2 as my main sim since early access in early 2020, and I fully support Reiza in what they are doing. It's just so sad that sometimes the overwhelming impression after a few hours of trying to play the game is just how buggy it can be.]

This update has been one of the best in the game's history. The AI improvements both singleplayer and MP bring a level of immersion and fun that keeps me coming back. It really is all coming together. My one complaint is we need to bring AI mistake multiplier and wet scaler to MP lobbies, then this would be almost perfect!
I can't wait to see what the team cooks up for a career mode in the future!

Everytime I saw people talking about "flying" and "floaty", I remember F1 drivers in radio talking "I don't have rear" or "this thing don't turn".

Cars are not "connected" to road surface, cars are not trains, rubber tyres slip always. Physics in AMS2 is a pleasure to drive. Very natural.

    Hello ,
About that , do you plan to add the leds panels on the side of the cars ( with position , pit stops countdown) etc etc , or it will be difficult to add ?

Sorry for the "ping" and my bad English.

100% agree. You watch F1 onboards and the cars do look on rails but when you are there in person you can see that the cars are actually moving and sliding around a lot more. Still a very small amount but they are moving.

The best example of this comment though was after a gravel rally stage the WRC driver said "the car was on rails". Professional driver's perspectives are so different to us normals.

Just need to post this while last night's racing is still fresh in my mind.
Have been racing with AMS2 since day one and have had some great times with the sim, also some frustrating times.
The term gamechanger is over used these days but honestly that's the best way I can describe this latest update!
Everything feels so much more connected now, consistency across the board handling physics wise has really elevated the whole experience for me.
In the past I've had really enjoyable sessions only to go back on again a day or two later to feel like something was off, kept making me question my setup /ffb and even pc system!
Since this update though everything just feels great, for the first time ever I've had multiple days of very satisfying racing without the feeling of needing to tweak and fiddle with ffb/graphics / pc settings.
Ai feels really solid now, multilayer has been constantly excellent both with lfm and general lobby races, great work Reiza, truly great work.
    Thanks.

When I was at the Hockenheimring in 2023 and 2024 it was the same: I was so suprised how much all of the race cars were sliding. Even the modern LMP3s were sliding slightly with their rear left in the last corner. Also a Corvette C7.R was always scraping on the tarmac with its front splitter in Sachkurve. I would have never thought that teams set up their cars like that. In TV or videos you don't notice such things and I really like how it is implemented in AMS 2.

Some cars are tough to drive, like f-gen 2, Even if the tyres temp are fine

Does anyone know if there is a bug with the Audi LMP1 2005? I did an AI race tonight and all of them including mine retired, I had an oil leak. An interesting thing I noticed was that in the race my top speed was much higher than in qualifying, in the race whilst out in front with no traffic I was bouncing off the limiter in top gear at Fontana road course where in qualifying I was nowhere near it. I was about 15kmh faster in the race.

Well, I had a water leak, followed by an oil leak, followed by… DNF.
I think my car was made on a Friday afternoon — or maybe the 22% front damage did it, because I’ve completed 40-minute races before without any damage or failures, so I know the car can do it :).

Real weather, car failures, and FCY are aspects of AMS2 that often make me come back. No other sim does them better.

Could someone explain what “Revised cockpit POV to correct standard for GT1, Group A, Group C, LMDh / GTP, LMP2, GTE, GT3 (both gens), GT4, Copa Truck” means or did?

Well, I tried the game after a few months and the AI racing is better than ever!!
I'm a bit confused about loading car setups (it was messy and buggy before, it's hard to understand now), and disappointed about TAA honestly. Too blurry in the distance.

    Anyway, great job!!!

I completely agree. You watch the onboard cameras in F1 and the cars look like they're on rails, but when you're there in person, you realize they actually move and slide much more. It's still minimal movement, but they do move.

The best example of this was when, after a rally stage on gravel, the WRC driver said, "The car was on rails." The perspective of professional drivers is very different from ours, the perspective of ordinary mortals. Well, I disagree. The stock settings are supposed to feel good. In my opinion, they feel somewhat disconnected from the road, although that's improved now.

Love the update but AI does not defend well before corners. Its too easy to divebomb and pass. Will that be corrected?

This video sums up pretty much my feelings perfectly post this last big update, just in video form and probably said a bit more simply and succinctly.
