The whole LMP1 2005 class need to be speed up dramatically, because the LMP2 are too close to them, both in race and qual, and the LMP1 laps times are not on par with reality aswell.

The performance difference between clases in 2005 was not as big as today. Maybe they need some adjustments, but it is not that bad as you may think.

It was not uncommon for some LMP2 cars to be faster than LMP1 and even some GT1 to be faster than LMP2 back in 2005.

2005, 12 Hours of Sebring ALMS. All sorts of classes mixed in together.
Based on what metric are the LMP1 times not on par with reality ?

not before the Porsche Rs Spyder hack.
To represent precisely 2005, the Lola LMP2 were not at all at the level of the the LMP1, and even the Brided LMP900.
Le Mans, ALMS and LMES included.

the GT1 were ahead of the LMP2 because they were purely race cars with factory drivers factory fund, factory teams, the cars were beast, the LMP2 of that time, I don't know if you were there, but they were the weak point of ACO series, they barely finish because of the reliability, the quality of cars were discutable and the drivers were terrible for most of gentlemen, you nearly finished on the podium or Top 5 if you just finished, even at 50-100 laps. the LMP2 of this era was terrible in Europe.

On pure laptime it's pretty close to reality, the problem occurs with the LMP1 Audi having either too high fuel consumption or it's fuel tank capacity being wrong. It falls severely behind over multiple stints because it pits early for fuel. The other issue is the reliability, the cars (all I have driven in game recently, not just the new 2005 endurance content) in game simply don't retire from reliability problems, default or custom AI, as I posted earlier.

the fuel tank of the r8 is correct for 2004-2005 lmp900 grandfathered
Lola B05/40 AER-MG Engine (turbo) best laptime in test
    3:44.752 3:55.531
    Lola B05/40 Judd V8:
    3:46.205

    Audi R8
    3:38.988 3:37.795 3:38.281

There are good 6-7 seconds at least on pure pace

Sorry I'm confusing myself (probably you guys too!) I was referring to the pace of LMP1 vs LMP2 comparatively, to me that ain't too bad. I wanted to highlight the fact that the Audi LMP1 is very slow over multiple stints, but competitive on single lap pace compared to its LMP1 rivals. And that in game reliability is bulletproof, unless ambient air temps get over 30 degees or so.

If the real life laptime of the Audi is as you claim, I have no reason for disbelief, that would certainly help offset the disadvantage of the (games) fuel consumption/tank capacity of the LMP1 Audi. Given the blue flag slow downs, and the issues being discussed here, I have sadly abandoned all the new endurance content and multi class racing entirely in AMS2. It's a mess frankly. For now I'm back to exploring the FUSA and F1 cars.

Is it just me or are the brakelights on the 2005 GT1 Lambo a little too dim?

During the day you can barely tell when they're braking, and at night their rear red lights don't get any brighter at all under braking

No you are not alone, I have the same feeling. Current workaround: Always stay in front of the Lambos. :D

The LCD instrument cluster of this Lamborghini GT1 is also hard to read. I hope it can be fixed as well.

I really enjoy this new detail. Had a thrilling GT3 race around Long Beach (a track I used to avoid but now appreciate for the adrenaline rush it provides) and got pushed into a wall shattering my windshield. I managed to finish the race but squinting through the broken glass in VR felt very intense!
It's also cool that the new glass texture is applied to AI cars as well!

It's not just the Audis; the entire 2005 LMP1 class is on par with the LMP2 class. The differences are minimal. If you put them on a track with long straights, the LMP2 cars will overtake the LMP1 cars, which are much better in the corners, and the... LMP2s are good on straightaways; you have to configure the LMP1s, which are slow on straightaways, and at the same time configure the LMP2s, which are infinitely faster than the LMP1s on straightaways.

Guess the promised shortcut might be added then too?
