That's not what the in-game Damping setting does. Setting it to zero will almost never be the right choice, including for DD wheels. It's nothing like the Damping setting on a wheel itself (where DD wheels may commonly be very low or zero).

 

Hopefully someone could share the "on paper" changes/revisions made to the ffb profiles (custom profile unchanged?) as everyones interpreted feeling is kinda unique.
Saying that. On my very brief testing I thought I felt a more natural feeling in the ffb

 

I have it set to 0 in every possible sim except for rFactor 2 and AMS1, because in those it simply doesn’t work properly. In LFS, R3E, ACC, etc., I’ve never needed to raise this parameter. I usually drive with a Thrustmaster T818. Since I currently don’t have oscillations and the center force feels correct, what is that supposed to mean—that this isn’t the right choice? Do you mean you know better what I need and which setting gives me the level of immersion I feel during real driving? The whole point of settings is so everyone can adjust them to their own preference, and I consider further discussion on this matter unnecessary.

Brazilian friends this patch had a great timing we can try to beat Rubinho's time now from last Volta Rápida nos Acelerados


For the devs, something might be off, couple of times when starting some multi class combination with the Revuelto to car had ctds did not had time to try more, but submitted the bug splat for one. As did not have time, removed the multi class race and for a single class no issues all smooth.

"Added option to disable car setup autoloading (disabled by default)"
This doesn't seem to work. Maybe the car doesn't autoload any setup when starting a session, but the moment you click on your car setup it still loads any setup for the car no matter if it's even for this track. The annoying part of that is even if you click on reset, adjust your car, go back to the menu, the moment you click on your setup again (to check something or adjust fuel) it autoloads your saved setup again ruining your setup you just build

 

Oh nice. I didn't think that kind of thing worked in the vr headset, i'll give it a try

Tried a few more times a muilt race and also CTD, I think the issue is with the Revuelto. A same config without it, and instead a super trofeo runs flawlessly.

I could reproduce this. It only happens if you have saved a setup (and with "Autoload Last Setup Used" set to "Off"). In that case, whenever you enter the setup, whatever saved setup is loaded, overriding your modifications

EDIT: the only way to not have this issue is to NEVER save a setup and make sure to delete all setups in the "My Documents/Automobilista 2" folder (or for the time being save them elsewhere until this is fixed).

 

I used to be in the same boat with the DAMPING setting until recently a longtime sim racer and one of the quickest out there recommended I try to up the INGAME DAMPING followed by on wheel DAMPING. I run a DD1 Fanatec and these damping settings changed the entire game for me. Now i run ingame at 70 and on wheel at 80. I can now oversteering much more realistically without the wheel jumping around like it shouldnt. It all depends on what you like in your FFB.but I never knew I would love Damping so much when used properly with other settings.

 

I drove my gt3 gen 2 championship yesterday and i can say that the feel of the gt3's (tested the porsche which i always liked and the aston) is quite transformed in a good way.
You can still overdo it and bin it but i find it more akin in terms of feeling to LMU but with less severe understeer and an actual grippy front end.

First impressions after a couple of laps on Suzuka and the Nordschleife:

• The Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT feels fantastic, very planted, well done Reiza !
  
  
• The Miura is definitely a challenge, the tires and brakes feel ancient xD.
  
  
• GT3s (Corvette) remind me of the 1.5 physics, I could powerslide like crazy through the S corners of Suzuka without any risk of losing it. It might not be the fastest way to drive, but it just doesn’t feel right. It doesn't spin out of the blue anymore tho !
  
  
• I tried the GTE variant to see if it had the same issue, and it feels way better.

 

Here it is. "Autoload Last Setup Used" is always set to "Off".
I start with absolutely no setup (no file in vehiclesetups_1_6 folder).
Then I change fuel to 15 and TC/ABS to 0/0.
I leave the setup screen and go back to it and the changed value are there. All good.
Then I save the setup and things start to go berserk with the saved setup being loaded after a reset. I then exit the session and restart it and the saved setup loads again (after a reset but in my previous tests it did reload the saved setup without it).
At various places in the video you can see that modifying a value in the setup, exiting the setup screen and going back. the modified value is lost, replaced by the saved setup value.
I do not show it in that video but deleting the setup in the "Save" tab does not fix it. I have to manually delete the setup in vehiclesetups_1_6 and restart the game.

 

Thank you Reiza! I must admit that I wasn't that impressed with the Lamborghini DLC announcement. But I gave the GT1 2005 a go this evening.

I was wrong. In fact, it may be one of may favorites now. What a car!

In the second part of the video where I restart the race (loading screen) and the default setup is (correctly) displayed then do a Reset, if instead I do not do a Reset but:

- change a setup value
- leave the setup screen
- go back to the setup screen
=> the setup screen shows the saved setup values

 

What have you done, Reiza? This update is incredible; I no longer have that uncomfortable sliding sensation. Now I can feel the weight of the car and the tire contact much better. Tested for 3 hours on a few combos, excellent. However, X3 still has lag in online games.

 

First of all, congratulation to the entire Reiza team. The new content and changes are amazing. But I just want to note something about the new FFB. May be a personal feeling or even an issue on my end, but in order to check if someone else has the same impressions as me or if it just a "me problem" after all. On low downforce cars, the new FFB feels amazing. I've just finished a Sprint Race Championship on LFM, first time I've never missed an week. So I'm very familiarized with this car right now and I really noticed the changes. Logitech G920, default FFB, recommend Reiza values as per the last FFB guide, 90% gain per vehicle on the setup menu. The grip builging and loss is very noticeable now, including on wich side of the car. I can really feell the wheels locking, and most of the time can take action to correct it. The car is much more communicative now, to point where I think that the people who would judge AMS2 as "too forgiving" must be bitting the walls right now, because the cars are so communicative that you need really to ignore the car behavior in order to loose it. Not a problem for me, I've always appreciated AMS2 physics and still do. Low downforce cars feels perfect to me now. But I cant say the same for the high downforce cars. I can feel the tires better, but it feels like there is a lack of understeer feeling. When turning the cars the steering wheel feels very light. I've tested the formulas V10G2, F-UltimateG2 and even the GT3s G2, all with that feeling. Is it just me or someone else is experiencing this? To be clear, in not criticizing, just curious if this is just me. Because that's not how I've remembered these cars.
