Thanks for fixing the HUD elements in the VR menu with this update. I had no issues turning off/on and placing elements with my mouse while in VR. Cheers :)

I cannot check because it will mess up my HUD layout if i switch back and forth, is the new HUD still black with zero opacity, or has it been added to the VR hud, or do you mean the old hud. Thank you for help.

"Interlagos Historic: Fixed safety car pitbox"

As I had hoped in my report, this has also fixed the issue with the safety car never returning to the pits once out.

    Thanks!

I noticed this as well. I don't run a HUD, and what I expected to be ERS capacity appears to be aligned with the engine RPM. Is there any way to change this on my own, and is there any way to add brake bias to the steering wheel display via the UI?

    Nice work Reiza!

    I don't really see the off-line dust.
It depends of the graphic settings, maybe?

If I start a race with green surface, should the cars starting in the off-line side wake up dust?
Or it only shows after certain laps of a race?

    thanks

I've also noticed that the AI no longer sticks behind slower cars (especially in multiclass), now they drive AROUND them and are more aggressive in passing them.

I just tested this update for the first time. I am not that keen on formula cars, but will for sure try the new ones regardless.

However, I did test the Porsche Cup car and it seems to be a very significant upgrade to the physics / tyre model? It is so much more predictable to drive, I am surprised it is not really highlighted as a physics update. I think it might be one of the more profound changes in driving feel since a long time. I am very very happy with this.

In earlier builds or beta, it was much more present (OK, first time in beta it was toooo much:eek:) Agree, think it's too poor at the moment. You need good eyes to see dust. No, it's not a graphic setting. I use everything at MAX and it's hardly to see or recognise. The dust effect is just such cool, hopefully it will be more present in future again.

    that's a pitty.
I think this kind of effects boost the immersion a lot.
The cristal clear view isn't real.

Now that we have high downforce variants of the Formula cars. I was wondering if we'll see other classes such as LMDh, LMP2, GT1 & LMP1 05 get high downforce variants as well.

Great work Reiza. Are there any plans to update the pit crew LOD and animations so modern F1 cars aren't released without wheels for version 1.7?
This is the only immersion breaker now from what ive experienced in VR.
Allowing modders to override pit crew suits to match the driver livery would also be the icing on the cake.
Not asking for much am i?

And also the go-kart drivers lose their heads/helmets in the distance in VR, looks creepy and distracting…

Is it just me or did the cars with updated tire physics become more controllable on grass? I had some crazy saves in the last few races which felt very satisfying and (to me) more realistic than before. Or it was just luck... who knows :D

    I thought the same...
I managed to get back on track without doing 57 360 spins.

I really love the new smokes effect, it looks much more realistic and really blocks your view for a moment. I think the only thing that should be changed to make it perfect would be that is should float way longer in the air before it disappears. In real life if someout spins out and leaves tons of smoke and dirt the cloud blocks the view for quite some time, in AMS2 it basically disappears completely within a few seconds

I’m really happy with the smoke from tire locks and with the aero wash effects when following another car. I raced the new f-hybrid gen-1 in Suzuka, and it was really noticeable when I was following Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull, I was really close to him after the hairpin, but every time we arrived at spoon corner I had a hard time to follow him closely with the under steer generated by aero wash effects. It was so immersive, and I spent around 5 or 6 laps to overtake him on a cutthroat move on the chicane. One of most immersive moments I had in offline racing ever. It was magnificent! I would like to thank you Reiza for focusing on all these very important details! It’s very believable and adds a flow to a race, where calculating risk vs reward and where to place the car when chasing another one is more important and strategic. Really cool!

The thing is if you were ahead of him, he will be much less affected by your dirty air and can stay on your bumper all the time

Hopefully it will be added in future updates for the AI too, it's just been implemented I mean.... It's okay, it's a very realistic feeling behind the wheel
