Automobilista 2 V1.6.9.5 RELEASED!

Pure speculation but given the current version is v1.6.9.5 I would think that the next release will be v1.7. In the year I've been around they've never released new content without a game update to accompany it so that's also likely here.

I imagine that most of the development ideas regarding quality of life (rather than content) are aimed for release as part of v1.7 and Reiza likely want to make sure it's all sitting where they want it to before release. I'm also anxious to drive the new version but very happy with what we have now as I wait.

When it arrives I'm sure it'll be a game changer

 

The next update will be released when Reiza feel it's ready to be released, they will never mention a solid date for a release, and the release notes of the previous update already mentioned that the next update will be another "formula centric" update, and in those notes it is also mentioned that the 1.7 update is for later on in the year.

There's still room for 1.6.9.6/1.6.9.7/1.6.9.8 and 1.6.9.9 there

 

And 1.6.9.10, 1.6.10.1, (...), 1.6.14.20

 

Here is the hint - it will be out when it will be out, or rather when all is finished. It is pointless to ask and before the 1.6 update came out people kept spamming the forum asking and almost demanding the update to come out. And because of that Reiza stopped giving info out until an update releases.

 

those are ordinal numbers, not decimals.

 

Reiza will release when its ready like always and its very good to do that when its not buggy, but a dev update to show what’s coming soon would be great , for sure

 

They did say it will be Part 2 of the previous Formula-focused update.

Sometimes I read patch notes in beta and think "really Reiza? Are you really doing that? That seems like a lot of work."
And I'm not referring to content, I'm referring to improvements that make racing better, especially for those of us who play mainly against AI.

I think there's a difference between constantly asking for a release date and simply asking for a general update on the development status.
I'm not asking for a deadline, nor am I asking Reiza to release incomplete content. What I'm asking is whether the roadmap has changed since the last announcement.
The release notes for version 1.6.9.5 listed it as the first of two Formula-focused updates. Several weeks have turned into several months, so I think it's fair to ask whether the second Formula update is still planned or whether development has moved directly to version 1.7.
As a customer who has purchased the game and is closely following its development, I don't think this is an unreasonable question. No one is asking for the Third Secret of Fatima, just a general indication of the current direction of development.

I understand that Reiza may not want to share release dates too early, especially when development plans can change. I also understand that it is better to delay an update than to release something unfinished.
However, I have to say that this kind of communication is becoming a bit frustrating. We are now roughly one month away from the expected v1.7 window, and there has been no real information about the current state of development.
At this point, it is not even clear whether we should still expect the second Formula-focused update before v1.7, as previously mentioned, or whether that content has been merged into the v1.7 development cycle.
I am not asking for a precise release date, a trailer, or a full content reveal. A simple general status update would be enough: is the plan still the same, or has the roadmap changed?
Silence until release may avoid creating hype, but it can also have the opposite effect: it makes people lose interest and move on to other games. Personally, I still care about AMS2 and I want to see it improve, but this lack of clarity is starting to make me less engaged with the game.
Delays are understandable. A lack of basic communication is much harder to accept.

 

No, not really any difference as it is still asking for info that will not be fiven to any of us anyway. Whether it is fair to ask or not does not matter because we are not paying for a game update. You bought the game, you did Not buy access to the roadmap or internal workings of what Reiza is doing and how. People do not seem to understand this. It is only the good will of Reiza that they are sharing information with us when they are.

And this is not even me saying stuff to defend a company as if i was some psychofan because i am absolutely not. And what i wrote can be applied to literally any game you buy.
