Man, y'all suprised us with this swerve, a very welcome one!

Completing the lonely 1995 cars with great mechanical range, with the hyrbid gen 1 finally joining the Frey. I have already clocked in more use in these cars than I ever did in the 290 hours I did in this game before the update.

The 1.7 physics has definitely made me love the classic FUSA indycars so much more now. I dont know what y'all did, but I can actually push and have fun. They arent by all means safe, but what's the fun in that? I can actually spend time racing these as they should instead of preparing to let my wheel go in safety.

And the smoke?? Oh my God, my PC doesnt slow down anymore when making smoke and it looks so much more real and organic, and natural behaviour. Y'all really need to pat yourselves on the back for this one. Genuinely very excited for the next update in the coming weeks.

I don't really "do" formula cars so the content in this update doesn't personally interest me that much, having had a quick go with the Ginettas the new smoke effects are great. For a brief time rF1 had smoke "flow" over cars, it wasn't all that great but did add an extra bit of immersion, would be a cool thing to have that again in the future but that's by no means important.

Just finally got my new pedals installed so will give this update a proper session at the weekend.

Just tried the McLaren GT3 Gen 2. Wow! Nice job Team Reiza!!! The car feels so intuitive to drive. Great update. It feels like ACC, which is a compliment.

If this is the physics we're going to see in V1.7.0, I'm super exicted and can't wait! Well done! Hopefully we also see some more multiplayer controls and options with V1.7.0 (fingers crossed).

Softer and better car shadows, water spray at night with water spray look, better tyre smoke performance, and more formula cars.

    Just perfect update, as usual.

Not entirely sure who's the intended author here, but Formula Edge custom-AI files haven't been working correctly at low- and high-downforce tracks (e.g., Monza & Azure) since at some point during beta development. The custom-AI file for Formula Edge that I shared works correctly at all "regular" downforce tracks (e.g., Interlagos, Donington, etc.) in the sim.

Given that @Dave Stephenson didn't mention anything about a fix for this particular F-Edge issue in the latest hotfix, it remains to be addressed. I would expect it to be sorted on Reiza's end relatively soon, as there's nothing inherently different in F-Edge compared to other multi-model/multi-downforce categories in AMS2.

Reiza, you rock! I really love the new update and the new "toys".

I wonder why sound detail is set to medium after the update. Is it "better" not to max it out?

Edit: I just did a quick race and it occurred to me as if the sound of the own car was louder than the sounds of the other cars in replay when using sound detail at medium. At max it seems as the volume of all car would be more balanced. But maybe it's just an illusion (or placebo effect: My brain thinks that something must have changed because I changed a setting.).

Do these updated (and very good) 1990s F1 cars mean we can expect to finally get the few missing F1 tracks from the mid 90s?
I'm referring to Magny Cours and Hungaroring, also it shouldn't be too much work to add the first corner castrol curve to the nurburgring.
PS One graphical change I'd like to see is the tracks are a little too light at night. The scenery outside of the headlights should almost be pitch black.

Spend some time at Monza with the F-Hybrid Gen1 and it is brilliant and immersive !
I like Formula cars in general but I know why I do not drive them more: I can barely finish a 30 mins race without ending up exhausted. These cars requires 400% of your attention at all times. The gearing alone is insane. No wonder Formula drivers are athletes.

The Hybrid Gen1 is this technological marvel, and the Formula Edge cars are a thing of beauty :)

Out of curiosity, I tried the GT3 and GT4 cars a bit. I don't use them much and they're not my favorite class, but I immediately noticed a different behavior: more understeer on corner entry and much more stable in the middle of the corner and through the curve. Trail braking is much more manageable. So I have to say I really like them. 9/10

Did Reiza screw up Formula V10 Gen 2? This is my favorite car in AMS2 for a long time. So I know this car very well. But this update make it spin out when you push the throttle too hard. It was never like this before. Also, the engine sound at the start doesn't give you that powerful rhumh rhumh...it's completely silence? It's just doesn't sound the same and I am sad to see this change. I think Reiza over think too much, that car was PERFECT before! Idk, I think something is off with the engine sound.

On the bright side, I like the Edge though (it drives and handle physics the best). The smoke is awesome.

    Hi

So far so good, but take a look at the RPM measurement again, it no longer corresponds to the red area.
