Thank you very much for having the detail of changing the steering wheels of the F V10 G3 (B) and F V8 G1 (B). And thanks even more to do an inspired Milano steering wheel in both cases. Even in the F V10 G2. Those small details is where excellence is :)

Now if it's not much to ask... and in a constructive and polite way, it would be cherry on top if both FV10 G3 (B/M) and F V8 G1 (B/M) have their drivers helmet a bit lower. Like in the Renault. Right now they are even a bit taller than real Button/Webber :p On the other hand, in the F V8 G2 they are spot on for example

P.D.: Now that I remember, it happened the same with the F-Hybrid G2

I want to second this as well, the drivers' heads seem to be extremely exposed outside of the car in the V10 G3 and the V8 G1. I've also noticed this on the 2005 Lola LMP2, they have the same type of issue. Obviously not a game-breaking issue or anything but would help in the immersion aspect.

Changed way more imo than any recent changelog betrays...
For me this is hands down the biggest leap forward so far, from one build to the next.
My favorite, the Lambo was so fundamentally different I saw every gravel trap at Spielberg 2001(love what they did with the crowd ambience, as well as 25yo tracks were apparantly just better lol)
thing requires a different approach entirely now; setting up before corners, brake modulation needed re-learning on my part for some reason... The whole response to varying degrees of steering input and abruptness of said input.
On previous builds I could comparatively get away with some degree of murder still, but those days are over.
There is still some throttle rotation to be had, in a horrid right kink like Spielberg T3 or something.
Dead stop almost, plenty of steering lock and punch the gas a bit. As it should irl, with TC turned well down.
All other scenarios it behaves very refined now, and therefore super gratifying..
Very noticable in "moments' too. Overcooking slightly or completely were a different affair from what I was used to. As in, much more in line with what I'd expect should be happening.
Gone is what remained of the sort of disconnect between front and rear that was something of a widely heard complaint of the class.
And of course when you lose the ability to creatively rotate mid-corner like we could to some extent still, then the understeer becomes a different animal too.
It's just so funny to me because this update is amazing in many ways. It adds a lot of refinement and QoL stuff. And the Formula content should steal the show I guess?(it's great!:D)
And once again it's 1:30am and I've spent like 2hrs racing a class I swore at one point I wouldn't.
I think gradually tweaking that slip angle out was the ticket too, as opposed to some other titles that would just opt to have NONE of it, ever.
(btw I still used the setup I had on it. 2 clutches, 70-80nm on the diff. Can't wait to play around some more)
I can unreservedly say now that for me, like many other cars in the game, these have "arrived" as far as I'm concerned.
Many have expressed frustration, or discontent in the past, with this slow tweaking and chipping away at the physics side of things. And it not being "on par" with whatever previously set subjective standard existed in the form of another title.
But many also had faith this would at some point lead to a superbly engaging drive, with greater complexity and intricacy than say some of the more linear feeling ISI-based offerings we were used to.
In fact it found a very decently sized audience for being a niche within a niche.
This project has something that I'm not seeing a lot of in gaming recently; vision, and a willingness to swim upstream with that vision regardless.
That requires confidence and determination... Which I think is what deeply connects it to its (fan)base.
Almost 3000h in btw.. Hit 4000h easily with all the content and features on the horizon.

Totally agree immersion wise. It makes it feel like something is a bit off... I don't know about gaming programming, if it's something very easy and fast to get fixed or it requires some work tho

I love the new XML overwrite parameters that affect both AI and player cars.
Just wondering—would it be possible to add overwrites for driver names and car reliability as well? about "name" I don't think I'm the only one who wants to drive as an actual driver on the grid.

about "reliability" It would also be great for career scenarios. For example, after moving from a team with excellent reliability, I might actually want to experience the frustration of driving for a team with poor reliability—much like Fernando Alonso did for large parts of his career.

You can always change your name ingame to whoever you want to be in your profile settings, your steam name is only used in multiplayer/time trial mode

Honestly for this one you could just change your in game profile name temporarily. It's one extra little thing to do, but definitely works.

Edit: didn't realise I'd already been beaten to the punch... Soz

Yeah, I used to do that too, but changing the driver name and nationality for every championship or race gets a bit tedious—especially since I switch drivers between GTP, GT3, F1(x4), and F-USA.

That's why I was wondering if driver names could be overwritten through the XML file, just like some of the other parameters. Still, thanks for letting me know.
