My impression is that it is being gradually reintroduced, starting with Grade 1 and Grade 2 tracks, eventually making its way to the other grades and historic tracks as well.

 

The new cars are for free though?

 

Yes - just not the historic track pack or hungaroring - after a few days they will become paid dlc

 

One thing worth noting - i have just gone into the R28 setup screen and it has traction control options. As far as i am aware, TC was banned in 2008, dont know if this is an issue that has slipped through the cracks or not, but worth pointing out

 

I tested Monza and it also did not work.

 

Is the Storm and Modena showed in the previous blog coming later on with 1.6.9.9?

 

The download does not start for me.Steam is validating game data and when it is done, it starts validating again. I have been trapped in this kind of "loop" for more than one hour now.
Never had this issue before...

 

Might be a reinstall job

 

That content is not part of 1.6.9.8, the picture was a teaser for future content. At this point it is not known if this is planned for 1.6.9.9 or later.

I've read about others having this issue with Steam games. There could be several reasons, but I think the most common is a corrupted Steam Download Cache that needs to be cleared and maybe together with an uninstall/reinstall of the game.

 

Wow what an update this is. The sound of these cars is on top! But what about the "Qualifying Rules", I can't edit them at all. And where is the car BoP tweak? I also couldnt locate it either. Sorry for sounding like a zombie now! xD

I noticed the Didcot cars were changed from Blue & White as seen in the 2026 Dev Preview to Green. Was that a copyright change?

 

It might depend on the drainage of the track. Tried a storm on Londrina and got huge puddles that span across the whole track in sector 3. It's neat to watch the simulation of cars passing push the water away, for it to accumulate until more arrive

 

After cleaning the download cache, the download obviously has finally started. Let's hope the best...

 

I had time scaling to 1x / realtime.
I will do more tests and report my findings with all of it.

 

In the little testing I've done in this regard, I got puddles at Silverstone GP and Kansai GP with realtime Rain.

Thank you very much for all the awesome work you put into this! Always so happy when it's AMS2 update time. Makes me get that giddy feeling that seldom gets thrown at you when life gets in the way. I can't wait to spend all night racing! <3
