Just to confirm: Are the three McLarens we're expecting in the next update the MP4/19, the /20, and the /25?

I think there is only one mistake in the list. If, as Reiza suggested, the three McLarens are meant to be the rivals of Alonso’s Renaults from the 2005, 2006 and 2008 seasons, the cars should be:

    • McLaren MP4-20 from 2005
    • McLaren MP4-21 from 2006
    • McLaren MP4-23 from 2008
The MP4-16 is the 2001 McLaren, so it would not match any of the Renaults that have just been introduced. The MP4-20 and MP4-23 should therefore be correct; the MP4-16 should be replaced by the MP4-21.

A simple comparison really does seem to point to the MP4/16.

To be fair, there is no such quote that there will be a match for all three years.

You are right, I hadn’t seen this screenshot. That is clearly the MP4-16, so it seems at least one of the upcoming McLarens is from 2001 and not directly related to the Renault/Alonso 2005-2006-2008 set.

    Hi gentlemen,
The last update is really incredible...all the cars are awesome. We'll done REIZA. Hope we'll see a 3rd 2005 pack soon.
There's a little problem with the Lister Storm GTM when shifting and onboard the vehicle, the left hand is traveling through the steering wheel. I know that you'll figure it out .

The 9th commandment of the Virtual Tarmac says:

"Thou shalt not covet the forthcoming DLC until at least three updates of bug fixes have been delivered. Thou shalt count at least two full moons after the sermon of the Apostle Jake of GPLaps before thou shalt utter thy voice upon the forums."

And so it is written, and so it shall be driven. Amen.

The last two updates have been outstanding, across the F1 cars, the GT1s, and AI, it's massive steps forward.

I've done three different full length GPs with the 2006 F1s against AI and there's been a mix of 2 and 3 stop strategies in the top 5, several multi-lap battles, and even a race decided by fuel strategy balancing heavy tanks at the start versus a short stop in the closing laps.

AMS2 is easily the best single player experience I've had since the Papyrus games 25-30 years ago.

The same goes for me; I’m 45 and have played every simulator out there since I was 12, and the single-player experience in AMS2 is something truly magical compared to all the others. Sure, there are still some issues and not everything runs perfectly, but I accept that and simply enjoy it for what it is. Thank you, Reiza, for all the work you’ve done and for what’s to come.

I second that, having the same age as you, I also spent my whole life playing sims, and AMS2 is simply the only one that fulfill all my needs. And I’m happy with all we got. Thus, modders for AMS2 are all very talented, which provide us further immersive experience. The hardest part now is to find time to play….I sometimes wish I had 12 years with plenty of free time again!

Same here... so many cars and tracks to drive and so little time to enjoy it...

And Thanks Reiza for the hard work and passion that you guys put in this awesome simulator!
I ran a league with Ams2, and SimGrid and your work is awesome, now we are racing the F3 cars they and they are excelent!

    Thanks

Anybody know, that when we got the mclaren mp4-20 and the new tyre degradation effects (graining), we got durable tires too? In 2005 there was no tire change in the races, so their tires was more durable.

Forgive my ignorance if this is totally normal these days but I find it incredible that Reiza have allowed the community's best-known and well-trusted modders early access to these cars so they can prep the new skins ahead of time - the 2006 skin pack coming out just days after the V8 gen 1 cars and now the 2005 skin already having the MP4/20 skin ready to go once it arrives. It's details like this which is the reason why AMS2 is so beloved amongst it's fans

So I'm kind of lost. The last two updates we had and the next one were ment to be the same one? The next update that should be "soon" what is gonna be? Just the McLarens, right?

I think the next update soon? (I would hope before Hungarian GP this weekend that would be nice). Is only the missing McLarens maybe a surprise historical Hungaroring? But wouldn't bet on it

I think the next update is a small one adding the McLarens. 1.7 is Q3 so expect end of September or later. But don’t be surprised if the McLaren update is rolled into that.

I don't think it will be that small... McLarens have been ready for over a month... We will surely see new features in terms of physics, tyre model and some new features in terms of QoL.

I think the same. I believe Reiza is working on some further improvements or an Easter egg to accompany the availability of the McLarens.
