Awesome update, I really dig the Panoz and the 1998 GT1 class! Speaking of which, is it on the radar to add an accompanying GT2 class (that's basically only Porsche 993 and Vipers), and perhaps even a 1998 Le Mans? (which is basically a frankenstein version of 2005 and 1988)

Not entirely sure, but I believe the Hungaroring is missing from the GT1 preset. Technically Spa was only raced in 1997 but is included. If that is of no concern because the GT1 class also kinda covers 1997, you could also add the Nürburgring, as it was also raced in 1997.

Am I correct that the new traction and braking scalar do not apply to championship mode? I only see it in single-race mode.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the game prioritizes 'modded' content so using skin packs or even the NaMeS-files will result in new vanilla content not being used unless you max out the grid size.

 

That sounds like you have a GT1 custom AI file installed so AMS2 always loads them first. Only if you go above the number of AIs in your file it would add liveries you haven't used in the AI file. So remove the GT1.xml or download David Ellis new version with the Panoz

I got this as a Mod-Car in the game, but i want it official from Reiza...PLEASE! This car to drive in VR - just awesome, with this cockpit!

 

Tried your suggestion, and it's amazing. Now with wet lines working and AI using it, it's another game: rubbered track is slippery as Ice, tested a lot of stupid lines in changing conditions and spins like crazy, but in last 4 laps using more or less propper wet lines, can catch AI and will try to go up to 100% AI wet skill to test the speed in track changing from dry to wet:

Jesus, i think there is something wrong with your settings. I already tried a vr set with simracing but never feel dizzy as watching 30 sec of your video

 

The Panoz is brilliant. Had such a great time with it in Buenos Aires!

 

The first lap with AI on Monza was always chaos. They bascially came to a full stop for a moment into T1 and left so many gaps left and right that you could just make up a lot of positions into T1. After the update the AI blew me away, they actually know how to drive good lines into T1 with so many cars around them, they don't come to a full spot and use most of the width available to get into the corner. This takes the already great AI to another level.

Can't wait to get these improved lines to more tracks where they have a bit of issues like Virginia in T1 or Long Beach in the last corner leading into the race start

 

btw, Reiza, your AI and performance improvements have definitely made a difference.

alright, thanks for the explanation. I figured since tracks like Cascais and Laguna Seca were present, the historical accuracy wasn't a concern if there were no period correct versions.

As you can see from my profile pic, feel free to add a 1997 period correct Nürburgring, of course

 

Excellent work as usual. I believe or want to believe that the next Reiza’s work with the AI opponents will be in race strategy pit in etc etc .

 

The new AI is great and with the scalar you can really fine tune it to have a good battle. It's a shame they are not available in championship mode yet!
