It’s always worth checking if the following settings are disabled:
    • Sonic for Windows
    • Any other audio enhancement settings
    • In Automobilista 2, verify whether the Headphone setting is on or off
    • Any mixer effects you may have applied
    • Aftermarket sound programs or applications
Additionally, consider updating or reinstalling your current sound drivers.

Sound issues can be caused from many variables, as every computer setup is unique. It's like a whole universe on itself, like our brains are.

Already checked but thank you anyway for the list.
When I switch from 5.1 to "stereo" in Windows 11 there is no crackling. When I set 5.1 in Windows 11 but switch to "stereo" on my speaker system the crackling comes from the left and right speakers.
Thanks for confirming that the issue is known.

Glad you checked this. I thought I am going to get crazy. Hope the fix will be coming soon.

So, I remembered something in the patchnotes concerning new audio for cars with steel underbodies or something of that description.
Had noticed some changes to classes I was familiar with...
At random today I decided to dust off an old favorite of mine; M1 Procar @ Oulton Classic! Those here that haven't touched the car in a long time should revisit as it has transformed quite drastically in terms of physics over the course of multiple updates.

But the actual reason for the post; the chassis noise!!! Underbody/suspension mayhem! Absolutely gorgeous! I use in-ears with a Quest 3 so already super immersive...
Sebring should be an absolute hoot with that car.

You are correct, my mistake, I looked up older ACR times, not the last model which was indeed really fast.

Did some more testing on the Z06 today. On Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta I was surprised how good it drives and was able to set quite good time trial time within a few laps. And I actually found my issue on NOS: The front tires don't heat up enough and with a 20°C difference between front and rear the car becomes undrivable. I turned down tire pressure on the front down to the minium of 1.4 and the Z06 finally drove fine on NOS. I was able to set a 7:33 on my first full lap started on cold tires, sadly I threw away my warm tire lap with good improvements halfway through.I wish there was a way to start NOS timetrials with warm tires....

The car heavily punishes you with understeer if you overdrive it, so braking early enough and coasting a bit seems to be the way to go.

I still think the amount of forces you get in the your wheel from elevation changes/bumps is way too high for a car with a hard suspension and magnetic ride, especially since other cars like the R8 GT or Viper ACR don't have that mcuh amount of steering movement from the road.

Nice update :) Plz add an option for seat left/right (extremely useful for cars like bmw m3 in which center is offset)

You can do ctrl-k and use Q and E, but I don't think it saves between sessions

Just changed from HDMI to Spdif and the crackling sound went away on the center channel. Also, notice the engine sounds are no longer primarily coming from the rear speakers but are more focused in the front. Now, have to readjust all the sounds.

The latest update is so good and I really appreciate the improved competitive balance for the 2005 LMP1 class. This is my go to series now and the cars are great to drive. Good balance between speed, downforce, and drivability. These updated coupled with a wheel/ pedal upgrade as few months ago have taken my sim racing experience to new levels.
Awesome work and happy new year.

The funniest thing about all racing games/sim in the market is a lot of Youtubers talking about realism, tyres, physics and in very rare moments giving AMS2 the recocnition deserved in all these areas.

This game is now a masterpiece, not only in the realm of racing games, in VR, it's like Half-Life Alyx, what VR is suposed to be. Now with all work done by Reiza, it's possible to record the gameplay in 2K, rain, headlights, and no FPS drops, and hope more people can be aware of this game that runs like this in a 4070 Super:

I took some more time to learn the Supercar Z06 on Nordschleife 25. After quite some practicing and some setup adjustments (with the few stuff you can change) I was finally able to set a new record for the Z06 in AMS2 with 7:16.642.

    Screenshot 2026-01-02 234559.jpg

I know there are a few faster times on Nordschleife 2020 but they are from v1.6 in 2024 so I highly doubt they can be recreated with how AMS2s physics and tires developed (and some curbs can't be cut in 2025 layout)

I compared how I adapted to drive to the real life car with the official Z06 Laptime video. Sadly Ghosts/Replays for NOS 2025 are broken so I can't rewatch my driving or clip it. I really blown away how the driving pretty much lines up exactly how I drove the Z06 over the track from braking points, where to lift throttle to have more corner entry frontgrip, etc. So while I was disappointed at first how it drove, I think Reiza might come close to really simulating how the Z06 drives at the limit, even it was quite unexpected.

I would still argue that the car needs some minor fixed setup adjustments though. As I mentioned the fronttires in the base setup on NOS are ~20°C colder than in the rear, so you have to tune front tire pressure all the way down to have balanced temps to drive. This sounds to me like there is an general issue that the front tires don't have the load they should have so they don't heat up, so maybe fixed values that can't be adjusted through setups like front springs, front arb or front aero should be checked if they are set up correctly (on other tracks the temps don't differ that much and you have much better front grip)
Also the force feedback has to be revised, as I mentioned it heavily shakes the steering wheel left and right all time on elevation changes/bumps so i had to tune down the car related FFB down to 80% to be able to drive clean without my wheel jumping as hard all the time.

a few references to Sport Autos Z06 Nordschleifen Lap since you can see the driver here to showcase the issues:
2:30 - Going through Poststraße & Fuchsröhre the steering always stays calm, in AMS2 at these parts the wheel get's moved very violently which makes it hard to stay in your line.
3:55 - Breitscheid is taken with good speed into the corner. In AMS2 this corners really shows the too much understeer since you have to slow down way harder and being way later on throttle to make it through
6:40 - Pflanzgarten II & Stefan Bellof S is taken very aggressively with the frontend being placed very precisely. In AMS2 at these parts you heavily fight the understeer and have to lift off quite a lot of the make it

So great job Reiza, while no sim will ever be able to recreate all real life tracktimes precisely, it was tons of fun to learn to drive the car and after watching real life clips it really felt like I drove exactly this car.

A few things that would be good to see later on after the addition of the Nascars are individual or at least side tyre selection for pitstops. I know that it can be done in pitstop strategy, but it would be nice to do it on the go too; right now the only option is to change all tires. Also, lucky dog and green wide checker. Lucky dog has been a thing I have wanted since forever, since the formulas. The possibility to unlap during the safety car. Green wide checker is not as necessary, but will add more to competing in ovals, since races do not normally end in yellow flag.
EDIT: also double line in safety car, with that I feel like the whole feeling of racing in NASCAR will be complete. That and the long awaited tires limitation in a race weekend.

Being able to change only left or only right side tires is a MUST for Nascar ! Aside from being able to change all 4, changing only 2 front or 2 rear makes absolutely no sense given how pitstops are actually done.

Lucky dog or unlapping rule would be great for Nascar and for F1 too.
Also the very first GWC was used in 2004 at the Brickyard 400, so if there ever was a GWC added to AMS2 it would only apply to the Stock USA Gen 3 class.

Oh gosh not the worst Nascar rule that ever came to be :(
