Merry Christmas and a happy New Year Reiza and Co!! Very comprehensive update to close the year. I might just buy a "cheap" (thanks AI for RAM prices) gaming PC and wheel to be able to enjoy AMS2 more often on 2 different countries, because it's torture having a go a couple of days every 2 months.

Looking forward to it at least next week, specially the AI tweaks and finally more consistent local yellow flags.

Merry christmas and thank you Reiza, I just tested the update on my free x-mas day (family duties again tomorrow ;)) and I have to say it's beautiful.
I came for the tourist layout of the Nordschleife and stayed for GT3 racing on Pocono North/South road course - what a fantastic track and the GT3 cars feel really, really great now after the update!
The track feels like a short mix of Le Mans and Daytona!
For the first time since I play this Sim (nearly 500h in), I just used Default + FFB and was happy with it. On my Moza R9 it felt great, realistic and there were no strange things like floating or snapiness.
So back to the track for me - I wish the track had 48 garages, so it would be perfect for multi class racing. Maybe Reiza can do something about this? :hurrayreiza:

Best VR stock car racing out there. So much fun.

so did I read that there is a hud widget that shows estimated laps/time left in terms of fuel? Or was that to come later?

Really like the weather and time widget.

Great update. Thanks for letting us try it out and Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone here and to the Reiza team.

One thing about the new stock car AI around the Daytona Tri-oval they are to slow at max difficulty setting. At 120, they should be using those gear ratios in the car setup. Once i catch a draft i go flying by the whole pack. Still fun but it needs to be more difficult

    Hello everyone!

After enthusiastically trying out this new update, I'm even more impressed with this simulator!
I want to thank and congratulate Reiza for their work and also offer my humble and respectful feedback on my impressions:

AI, Physics, and Interior Texture Improvements: I'm a Formula 1 driver in the simulator. I tested several cars from different classes and noticed improvements in these areas in many of them, with the AI's more realistic and competitive behavior on the first corner after the start being particularly noticeable.

New Cars and Tracks: While oval track racing and street racing aren't things I usually do with the simulator, it's undeniable that they're excellently done. I'd be very happy if this higher level of modeling brings improvements to F-Retro, F-Classic, and F-HiTech cars in the future.

New HUD. This is the improvement I was most looking forward to, and it certainly disappointed me a little, even though it's clearly still under development and this is a beta version. It's a great feature to have the option to activate or deactivate this beta, so I can return to the original.
What I like about this development version is the expanded information we can get about the mechanical components. What I don't like is how large it is.
The opposite is true for the very small size of the position/lap display and the tiny characters in the position and gap display.
Perhaps it would be a great addition if, in the future, we could adjust the scale of each HUD panel to our liking.

All of this only makes me more excited about the improvements to come, while I dedicate more hours to enjoying this simulator, which is my favorite above all others. Congratulations, Reiza!

Yeah, I agree that I'm not impressed by the beta UI. The damage widget is too wide. Maybe a dynamic option to show some parts only when they are damaged would help.
Another suggestion: the default position for the old HUD elements needs a lot of work, at least in 16:9. I can't imagine anyone using the defaults, which is a barrier for new players.

But still, great update and very surprised by the new content of the USA packs!

Anyone notice a crackling or static noise when driving the Viper ACR or the Nascar LeMans Camaro at the Nordschleife Tourist layout? Its not constant, it happens at various times. If I drive those cars at "older" tracks I do not notice it

I don't do ovals so I ran each of the three Stock USA cars on road courses. Gen 1 at Watkins Glen short, Gen 2 at Brands Hatch, and Gen 3 at Road Atlanta. I have very little experience with Stock cars in general but I don't really care for these cars. They're just not my cup of tea. If I even touched a rumble strip it spun the car out even on no throttle input which is strange because they hopped the curbs at the Glen chicane just fine. They have so much torque steer that I couldn't get on the power like the AI could without spinning out. The front stretch at Brands Hatch where you have to turn a little to the right while applying power, also made the car spin out because I was trying to keep up with the AI but I had to back off and just let them go.

I might occasionally try these cars but I don't really see myself using them a lot. They will probably go into the same section as the stadium trucks for me, things I don't use.

As for the rest of the update, besides the blanking of all of my rims that I've reported in the bug section, I can't really tell any difference in the way any of the cars drive of what I have driven. The AI still acts the same. Still has those very twitchy movements that us humans couldn't get away with. I still see the 3, 4, 5 car nose to tail trains.

So I guess this update was a bit of a negative for me. I've lost the displays on my rims and it's three cars I will probably use very little.

Pretty much how i felt about every IMSA update. But then again not all dlc cars are meant for me, meanwhile the new stock cars became my favorite cars in the game.

With your avatar I can probably understand why. So do you use the Stock cars everywhere or just on ovals?

It would be nice to have sector times with the 3 colors in the HUD WIP.

Almost the same for me... I did not expect that I will like so much. But I remember those late 90-ies NASCAR battles (Jarrett, Labonte brothers, etc...). Only - I still think are these coolant leaks due to my crashes, when front of the car is being hit?

I read a lot of comments about the Stock cars, don‘t forget about the new (road) super cars!
They are fun,I like the Maserati very much. But keep in mind - even with semi slicks these are road cars, if you attack the track like in a race car, you won‘t keep it on the road.

I am not against cars of other types, i just have a preference for stock cars. But i am also a huge fan of historic F1 !

Yesterday, me and peeps the group i am part of, raced the Stock US Gen 3 at Laguna Seca, and that was great ! Gen 2 at Pocono road course, not good did not fit at all but then we tried Ginetta GT4 at it and that was great. Gen 1 at Watkins Glen short without the chicane is amazing. And the Le Mans Garage 56 at Mosport is also superb. Gen 3 at Road America is also perfect.

I love racing these beasts on ovals and on road courses too, just have to find the right type where it fits.

EDIT: Nascar races on several road courses since it's inception so these cars are perfectly fit for non-oval tracks too.

    Great update y’all !
Thank you for the local yellows- nice to have the warning of a wreck ahead that doesn’t trigger a fcy !

Quick question- are there any rules tied to the local yellow (like a speed limit/no passing). If not is that something that is a goal? Just curious- you guys are rocking it- thank you again!!

I have the same problem here. I´ve been trying every setting but the frame rate is 35/77. Is there any official word from Reiza about this issue? Meanwhile, no Nascar for me :(
