This was more or less my point - first gear makes the car supremely sensitive, and you need to be pressing the throttle like a newborn child was sleeping below it otherwise it bites. I’ve had real world experience of this and you do notice when a GT3 car starts overrotating because you’re not treating the car with gentle finesse! The first snap I got in the McLaren nearly caused me to require fresh clothing…

That SimRacing604 video is so unrealistic, Mike uses a cup to drink, everybody knows in real life drivers have a straw that delivers drink straight to the mouth. :)

I hope he posts a video of the Lamborghini Supertrofeo next.

AI is still ****, apparently it still doesn't overtake anyone, and doesn't make defensive moves, I don't think we'll ever see a decent AI after GP4!

I find that Raceroom is more cohesive as a product overall, though it’s true that this sim has been in development for over ten years. AMS2, with its recent updates, has made huge strides and will keep progressing—there’s a lot of potential there.

What I like least is that, under certain conditions, the tires tend to slip too much, and the AI could be better calibrated. Other than that, the game remains excellent and, above all, fun.

One of the things I love most is that every lap feels unique; track conditions are constantly evolving. A car can bring dirt onto the track, which can change your approach for that specific section. Not to mention the weather factors and grip that vary from sector to sector. Going off-line in Turn 1 at Long Beach, for example, can be tricky.
I like both of them. Raceroom is a more classic simulator, and it’s easy to feel comfortable with it right away. AMS2 takes a bit more time to fully appreciate, but once you get to know its unique features, it can be a lot of fun.

Spot on. There are several things he is doing that is causing this behaviour.

I don't understand what the prerogative is to dislike? I've been playing this game since Reiza's stock car days and can anyone show me videos where the AI makes defensive moves by closing the door? I didn't see overtaking from AI to AI, what did I say wrong?

Yeah, very hard to tell at Long Beach in such tight corners / low gears. Also tricky to judge with what felt like a low fps stuttery stream.

It does however indicate the TC is still allowing a large amount of slip?

They also seem to have more speed when defending still. Which is annoying. It seems when the player is going for the overtake the AI gains speed and it doesn't mind which line to take because it is just faster. It certainly doesn't look realistic at all yet. To me getting the AI right is sheer impossible in the way they have to do it by tweaking it for every track, ...

How do you run this resolution? So high! I have a 4090 with a Reverb G2 and need to run 3300x32xx to maintain 90fps.

I don't understand this forum, it seems to me that speaking badly about the game is something prohibitive, I think this select group of people should show me with photos and videos where the AI makes defensive moves and where we can see AI x AI overtaking, as it seems easy to me say no without arguments, I've been a buyer of the base game since the beginning but my interest is focused on the AI as I was lucky to play Gp2 gp4 where after these games I never found anything good in relation to AI, I think I'll lose hope!

Look up overtake GG and the AI driver utility... You can give tune the AI to a very finite detail. Also and I don't want to cause any offence GP4 was all pre scripted. Crammond was a genius. Pre script the race including all overtakes and failures let the driver race in the middle ...

The only thing better than driving Porsche Cup or Lamborghini Supertrofeo is to have both in a multiclass race. 22 Porsches, 24 Lambos, for a total of 46 cars on track.

For people who prefer GT3 something nice to try is to set a multiclass race with GT3 Gen1 + Gen2.

I'd suggest waiting for 1.6 to be released, playing if for a good while and then passing judgement.

I'm also a bit perplexed by this cult following GP4 has for it's AI. It's a 22 yr old game with 0.04% of the car / track combinations of AMS2, extremely simple physics, and no dynamic track or weather systems. Yes it was great for it's time, but not worth a comparison.

maybe a thing to watch is the amount of slip that it allow vs how much it kicks in fast corners beacause high TC kill the car in fast corners
