Agreed, so let´s cut it out already shall we, it won´t get you a release date - we have made the decision (after learning the hard ways multiple times) that they add pressures that are not conductive to optimal results in something as hard to predict as software development schedules. Even giving loose estimates as a way to offer users some foresight without making a commitment to delivering on it already leads to more backlash than its warranted in case it isn´t met, so the thing to do is wait and read between the lines for hints.

I understand it is better to give a perfect product.

But why communicate at the begining of the week to have no concrete plan

Who says we don´t have a plan? We are just not communicating it publicly, and you just demonstrated the reason why.

Why are you guys so wary of communicating with the non-beta crowd? I understand that we didn't pay you guys directly for the privilege but we're still part of the community and paying customers. We're not getting stuff for free, we support the studio by buying your products, don't you think we deserve better communication?

I can only judge by what i see so you didn't show to us a plan.

But don't get me wrong i totally want you to take your time to deliver great things .
But for the majority (no beta ) we prefer a no talking until you're 100% sure of the date or a message that clearly says that you need time. But a soon that indicate nothing isn't the best

Because then people have been for years now complaining more about missing the date even by a few days than enjoying the product.
And they have been filling pages of rants in this very forum.

You have exactly the right strategy!!! You're doing a great job and I'd rather be surprised than have promises that probably won't be realized. Thank you for this upcoming update, I look forward to it and take as much time as you need!

We don't get much more communication about release dates, infact it's about the same as what you guys get.

There are things to complain about at times for sure, but communication isn’t one of them. I feel like this thread devolved pretty hard here the past few pages. Reiza communicates a lot better than most game studios. I am critical of the game at times, but this is a bit much.

Lock this bad boy up until the next dev update, I say…

I don't like a single cent of what's happening here. I will leave, but I wanted to underline that not everyone is blindly following the bosses and getting any kind of insinuations on all fronts.

    Long live AMS2.

You speak for no-one but yourself.
No-one can claim to speak for 'a majority'

You are not the only one. It feels like a small part of users always manages to spread negativity and criticism (without much to back it up) and sucks the joy out of the threads. I just hope that Renato and the rest of the team knows that the majority of users are not childish like that. We understand your situation, the pressure that comes with the hype and we know that you want to deliver something you can be proud of.

Please close this thread and dont let the negativity of some individuals pull you down - this is an amazing and exciting time for all of us! Let's go!

The equivalent of no talking can be achieved by a similar technique I call "no reading".

First, you are commenting on a thread which sole purpose is to communicate to users about the contents of an upcoming update, so your premise is not really accurate. Second, there is no relation between being a paying costumer to the info you get about its development irrespective of the level you are at, Paddock members get more purely as a result of being involved with the development process.

We have in fact been doing regular dev updates about our games long before they became the norm for other studios, with myself and other members of the team regularly engaged with the community here and elsewhere ; as the userbase has grown larger and we´ve tapped into a segment of the market that is at once more demanding and less charitable in their expectations for what they get for their money (irrespective of how realistic those expectations might be) resulting in a growing tendency for communication to be misinterpreted, we have naturally grown more conservative as to what and how much gets put out when.

Fact of the matter is, we have a small team, and it´s almost entirely focused on development - there is no communications dept., it´s all sourced by me and its only one of many management and development responsibilites that I hold; this isn´t because we can´t afford more people, but because it is my personal option to keep Reiza a lean efficient ship not least as that allows us to keep the money going to what matters most, which is the development of the product.

it´s that very guideline of efficiency that ends up resulting in more limited communication once there are diminishing returns from it. Moreover, experience suggests that there is a large overlap in users that have objections about how we handle our communication (be it its frequency or its content) with those that have most objections about the game itself, so ultimately it´s to their own benefit that we concentrate more efforts on the development work itself, and less on comunicating about it.

Hey @Renato Simioni or @CrimsonEminence do you still plan to release the Dev Blog 'The Road to V1.6 Pt3'? I'm super interested in the audio changes, how your engineers approached the mix and maybe how to update my in-game sound settings for optimal results?!

A short thumbs up or thumbs down on this post would be enough. THX

Feel so sorry for you guys working your ass off and people complaining:( Guys this is a major update
Speaking for myself i really appreciate
    Not cool guys i
Myself and most others i am sure really appreciate the hard work and dedication of you and your team and also recognise the amount of work involved in this massive update and how difficult it must be to hit certain deadlines
I am really embarrassed to be this side of the fence with some of these comments. Renato i personally really appreciate what you guys have delivered so far which in my opinion is a truly awesome sim and although i am so desperate for the update i also know you guys are working your asses off to deliver. Ignore the noise and work your magic it will be done when it is done. Good things come to those who wait
