I dunno if this goes against the forum rules (if it is feel free to delete my post), but from November 21st to December 6th RaceRoom Experience is on free access. All the content is free for testing. That's a good thing to do while we wait for v1.6.

Watching the Formula 1 FP2 session, genuinely surprised that on Colapinto's car, there was actually a relative screen on his steering wheel! Granted it only showed 4 drivers total (one ahead, three behind) but I'm surprised it actually is an option in real life! Is there any chance that something like that could be added to the Formula Gen2 at some point in the future? It'd be great for VR/HUD-free use!

Yes, I'm aware it's insanely niche, but I think it'd be cool! Maybe even a way to let the user customize the wheel UI themselves, but of course that's surely a long way off.

 

Yeah I agree they have never achieved the speed they should have. DPi once separated from LMP2 were able to be faster than the Oreca with their custom dampening and suspensions. The Oreca was capable of reaching 340kph at Le Mans. While the Caddy doesn't have the special low down force kit it can't sniff the times the Oreca did in quali or race trim.

If you take the DPi to tracks like Spa it won't sniff times that Oreca's were running this year in ELMS. I think since LMDh have been added to the game it's a decision to not let the DPi be at its actual performance to keep LMDh as the fastest prototype class. It's a decision I'm not personally a fan of, but that's my guess.

 

I think it is reflective of real life - DPi has the exact same power and weight as a Oreca 07, and e.g the LMDh Caddy has 670 bhp and 1030 weight - I this is a slightly improved power to weight for LMdh, with presumably better aero, etc... I don't think the DPi has been downrated in-game? Unless someone on the team can provide evidence.

 

Raceroom pricing is mad, if i add all the missing items to my basket its £107 and this is just single car liveries. I recall the last time I bought all the missing content it was around £70.
Even with black friday this game is just not worth it - AMS2 is a bargain by any measure.

When you purchase the Premium Pack, it costs €99 (approximately £82) and includes all 60 tracks and 241 cars in the sim. I bought this option a month ago, and I don’t regret it. I love the variety of trying new car and track combinations, as well as jumping between different car classes and eras. It’s similar experience to AMS2 but without the day night cycle and weather, plus (!!! IMO !!! please dont start simwars) it offers better driving feel and sound.

 

I already bought the premium pack at that time it was £56. You don't get the new content thereafter and you cant buy it twice hence its 107 for me to catch up .

 

It will take some time for ProMods to integrate this content in their map!
Fortunately, there's ATS with the upcoming 1.53 update and the really fantastic Reforma map!

When the 1.6 update comes "in a few days", I probably won't even notice it!
OK, I'm exaggerating here a little bit, but if I buy anything it'll be only the new tracks.

I will drive the existing cars with the new physics!

OK, thanks for the explanation! I didn’t read your comment properly. Still, I think it’s cheaper than iRacing.

 

I came here expecting people to be excited about LMDh, LMP2, GT3, Supertrofeo, but instead I see people talking about all kinds of stuff that isn't the new cars. Go figure.

 

But I wouldn't buy the Premium Pack again. It includes too many repetitive or obscure classes. I'd choose the middle pack instead and add my favorite classes separately, I think it would save me a lot.

 

That's clear, the problem I see is that iRacing offers you something different to AMS2 and RaceRoom, whereas the latter are similar in terms of what they offer. And for me, who has been playing RaceRoom for years and a few months in AMS2, I'll just say that I wish I had spent the money of RaceRoom on AMS2...

 

You're right. How about sharing some friendly insights from the Paddock Club to get things on track?

 

it is, but its not iRacing either.
After iRacing its the worst value game out there.
Because of its DX9 engine my 7800X3D & 4090 can barely run it at high res 90fps (in VR).
Also not sure if all the existing content we've purchased will be ported to the DX12 rewrite?

 

I would very much love to share a couple (badly edited) 1.6 vs 1.5.6 car comparisons I've made (V10G2, F-RetroG1 Lotus, GT3G2 Porsche, F3, F-Reiza in the rain), but that embargo is a super pesky thing...
