How can it be that i only discovered today what an amazing combo Formula Trainer Advanced on Velo Città is! In VR, this sim keeps amazing me every time again.

I was so sure 1.6 was gonna drop this week, but hope is faiding away, so got back into 1.5 and keep to find these combo's. Anything on Ibarra is just so good!

I know it’s not compulsory, I never said it was.

I am hoping we get 1.6 soon, but if nothing else, I hope we at least get another “it’s 100% not coming this weekend” notice from Reiza so I can stop thinking about it for a few days.

What? On the contrary, there is so much content now and it's expensive to purchase it all, so it makes sense to push it with discounts (but not the new dlc) to get more people to buy it.

Okay first, yes DPi had the same minimum weight as LMP2s because they literally use one of any four of the LMP2 manufacturer chassis'. The difference between DPi and LMP2 was DPi got to use custom bodywork, engine, dampening and suspensions. Power was not identical for DPi and LMP2. For the first two seasons of DPi they were BoPed to the best LMP2. This meant slowing them down because their custom dampening and suspensions gave them an advantage over the spec LMP2 dampening and suspension systems. From 2019 onward DPi were separated from LMP2 and no longer slowed down to allow LMP2s to compete.

You need to know that Hypercar/LMDh regs were written to cut costs and their target lap times were 3:30 at Le Mans or similar to LMP2s. They are heavier and have limits on the amount of down force they can generate due to regulations. They can only have one adjustable aero piece while DPi and LMP2 could have adjustable front and rear aero. Their minimum weight is 1030kg with no fuel or driver. Their power is cap is around 670hp. That's in comparison to LMP2 regs which allowed 603hp from the spec Gibson V8 and 930kg minimum weight. To date the fastest Hypercar/LMDh times in qualifying and race trim have matched the fastest LMP2 times before LMP2 was slowed down at Le Mans, and at most of tracks are slower than what LMP2 times were.

Go look at Petite Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona, Watkins Glen, Mosport, Long Beach, or any of the other races in IMSA that LMDh and DPi raced at. Look at Spa from ELMS this year and compare times to what we saw from the WEC. What you'll see is the DPi and LMP2 come out near matching or outright beating LMDhs/hypercars. There is only a couple cases where LMDh outright beat DPi. Off the top of my head it's Leguna Seca and Road America both of which were repaved after DPi were done racing.

The hybrid systems on the LMDhs are not even an advantage over DPi or LMP2s. They don't add power IRL they supplement ICE power to make them more fuel efficient. Those hybrid systems also only supplement like 67hp so it's more marketing than actual substance. In the Hypercars that have hybrid systems the hybrids supplement a lot more power from the ICE, but it's at speeds at 250kph and above to not give their AWD an advantage on acceleration over the RWD LMDhs and non-hybrid Hypercars. If you look at our qualifying pace or race pace DPi and LMP2 hold a slight advantages over Hypercar and LMDh. Where the Hypercar/LMDh hold an advantage over DPi and LMP2 though is stint length since they do use hybrid tech and have larger fuel tanks (110L compared to 75L for DPi/LMP2).

If you want proof that DPi is slowed down compared to LMDh in the game go to Spa and compare your fastest time with DPi to LMDh and then look at what the fastest LMP2 times were this year with ELMS compared to WEC. I guarantee you that LMDh will easily beat the Caddy DPi, which again was faster than the best LMP2 at its peak.

The main game and the beta both have been getting regular updates these past days. I think they are still fixing bugs or adjusting things.
The dedicated Server hasn't been updated for several months (only the beta, but not recently). Whenever we see an update there a release might be close.
I guess it will happen some time next week.

I hate to burst your bubble, but updating the dedicated server doesn't take long, and they always update that after they released a update to the game. ;)

In the meantime I'm building a new wooden cockpit based on the SimLab GT EVO 1, the update will definitely come when it's ready.;)

That's blown my mind, especially when the LMP1s were even smaller

I remember when I drove at Circuit of Barcelona in a driving rent thing they had over there, the first thing I though was how massive the track was, it felt like a highway in how wide it was. Then you look at an F1 race there and the track feels tiny in comparison, this cars size is something else :D

they have not posted the dev update on tracks yet, unless I missed it. So not sure why they have to confirm that 1.6 is not coming this weekend. What you should be asking, is the dev post on tracks coming this weekend.

Of course it is. Or dev post today, update tomorrow. No one knows but it wouldn’t be weird for Reiza to do something like that.

They've done just that for LeMans DLC (edit), but it was litrally afternoon on New Year's Eve, so dunno how much it can be considered a persisting precedent

Hype is kinda dying again - at this time last friday everyone was ecstatic about update droping any minute now.
Today we are mostly back to the old "it'll be released when it's ready" :(

Yeah very cool car to drive and fits like a glove in to the small south american and british tracks. There´s also a brilliant skin/AI pack available [AMS2] Formula Ford Festival – DURATEC Champions 2007 - 2011

Let me throw some hype, at least to VR users. I installed the beta last night. The LMP2's in VR are absolutely sick! Close quarters in that cockpit make it so real. You'll love them.
