You haven't driven many race cars, then. The vibrations just while sitting in neutral with the engine "idling" can be very noticeable, as we feel in AMS 2. I put "idling" in quotation marks because if you do some research you'll realize that some race engines do not "idle" at all, like a road car.

Race cars and karts have such direct steering and road feel that is nothing like a road car. You feel like you are connected to the track, with no cushioning, bushings or any other luxury features in between. Noise is the same--no sound deadening, no mufflers on the exhaust. Nothing that adds weight or complexity that doesn't help the car go faster. This raw feeling is what AMS 2 does better than any other sim. And to be honest, it's part of what is lost in all the custom FFB files I have tried. They have some amazing features and configurability, but none replicate the direct, raw and dynamic feeling of Default+ that is closest to a real race car in my experience.

AMS2 1.5 has been locked up for slidey behavior. Officials are seeing substantial behavorial changes enough to declare it 1.6.

It's a horrible joke. I'll think of something brilliant later when it's completely irrelevant.

I also really like default +. Only problem I have with it is that I have to dampen it so much as its overreacting, oscillating.
I literally can't let go of the wheel at any point as it goes mad.

Is there any information regarding LFM how it plans to implement AMS2 multiplayer races for example will it be Season 1 Hypercars, Season 2 LMDh, Season 3 Formula Classic, etc? Or will the cars raced change weekly? I wonder how this will work.

I’ve purchased both games in the past few months with all content - cost me around the same each $200 NZD.

My second time purchasing AMS2 in it’s entirety (lost my old steam account) and no regrets for the smiles per dollar.

If by "everyone" you mean Renato's child prodigy banging out lap records on the trusty G25, then yes, AMS2 V1.6 RC1, RC2, & RC3 were for "everyone" ;)

I know two guys who were proffessional car drivers and competting in world competitons, one of them drive Porsche Carrera Cup, other one Ferrari 488, one of them is former champion in mountain tracks, I had opportunity to speak with them, both of them said rFactor 2 is best sim but for actual learninf the track and feeling of the car they use RRE, which means ffb too. If they don't know what is real what is not I don't know who does :)

You need some adjustment on your base or in the game sliders. Excess oscillation does not happen when everything properly adjusted. But it is still VERY lively, which is why some poor settings can push it over the edge as in your case.

Some F1 drivers have used Playstations to learn the basics of a new track. It would be great to some day compare a professional simulator to what we have in our "prosumer" sims. It's easy for us to compare "prosumer" to the wide array of "video games," but only a handful of people have used both a professional sim and properly configured "prosumer" sim on properly set-up equipment. Max Verstappen is one of them.

Thanks for the previous response !

For the FFB it is really hard to judge beacause its depends a lot of the physics.

I found the Default+ quite good but a bit too much dynamic so with a DD it is too extreme on curbs and bumps

On physics side i think that TC can be improve.

And for others aspects of the sim work on MSAA + shadow , driver swap and adding content can put AMS 2 in the best sim to have
